MetaMorph themes for swype

ugh.. i updated to a Watermark'd version of Lithium mod and now my swype with your MM theme isn't working.. its weird, it just force closes now for (com.android.swype.inputmethod.apk). The actual file itself before I moved it to the system/app folder was com.android.swype.inputmethod-1.apk. Swype just won't work and will not uninstall either, force closes over and over. I have tried moving the renamed file back into the data/app folder and renaming it to com.android.swype.inputmethod-1.apk and inputmethod.apk just to see if it makes a diff.. it doesn't. if i go into my applications manager and look at it every button is greyed out but shows still the 156kb or whatever the file size is. what should i do? should i uninstall it using a file manager and wipe its data/cache? any help would be great, i really enjoyed swype.. especially with this MM theme ;[

edit: the file swype.apk isn't staying in the app/data folder when i try and move it back. i have the mount option checked off on root explorer.. it claims the move was successful as well as the rename. I reboot after doing it also.

Try this: go into Terminal and type

su
sysrw [or whatever command works to mount system as read/write on your ROM]
busybox rm system/app/swype.apk
cd system/bin
sh pm uninstall com.swype.android.inputmethod
cd..
cd..
sysro [or whatever command works to mount system as read only on your ROM]
sync

(Don't type the stuff in brackets -- those are instructions)

If that's successful (and actually I don't know if it will be if you've removed swype.apk from system), then you should be able to install Swype again in the usual fashion.

where does the com.swype.apk.inputmethod-1.apk file actually need to be? because the OP of this thread has you move it and rename it. just want to make sure its where it has to be so the uninstall will work. thanks btw.

tried the terminal commands you gave me.. when i went to sh pm uninstall com.swype it said "sh not found" I have not uninstalled swype. I reloaded this new rom and all the apps load on their own. Since then it hasn't worked.

Put the swype.apk in /system/app -- and make sure the name of the apk and the name in the 3rd line of my instructions match exactly (so either change swype.apk in my instructions to com.swype.apk.inputmethod-1.apk or rename the apk to swype.apk after you move it to /system/app.

That works for any system app to remove all remnants in the device, you just have to change the names of the apk and the data in data/data to match exactly what's there for the app.

Hi. I previously made a request for a swype theme to match golden elegance in the style of your blue twist. I have searched the thread and have been unable to find it. I also read you might be discontinuing the making of the modified swype. Not only would that be a shame but to whom will we go now? I hope you change your mind.

if kook doesnt make a theme, i will. so your wanting a theme to match golden elegance but from the keyboard( d2 swype) i made blue twist out of.

ok so some of you may remember my MM themes for handcent(http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-themes/34058-release-themed-handcent.html#post359336). in that thread i mentioned i would release some MM themes for swype, took me awhile to get around to it but here you go. same directions as handcent

1. make sure you have the most recent MetaMorph from the market
2 with a file manager like root explorer go into /data/app and find com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk
3 long press on the com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk and select move
4 navigate to /system/app and select paste
5 long press on it again and select rename, name it swype.apk (all lower case) then reboot phone
6 download the color of choose to pc
7 mount your sdcard and place the file you downloaded in the adroid theme folder
8 open up Metamorph and select unzip/extract new them
9 navigate to the swype.zip that you placed in android theme( i think it automaticly opens in that directory) touch it and follow the prompts. when its done, reboot the phone.
check post #3, #5, #12 on page 2 for more MM themes for swype

you have to reboot your phone 2 times during this process.

i should have a swype MM theme to match all my handcent MM themes. enjoy

theres a botton on top right og root explorer that says r/w or r/o. ou have to touch it and make it read/write

Something similar to this for Swype, or just any simple black keys/white text no glow (kind of like your blue keys have no glow) would be awesome.
