yeah the xml will work if you alter the images, just make sure you keep the structure of the folders the same and dont rename the zip or xml,if you do a rule of thumb is that the zip file and xml needs to have same name.

No, after applying a theme it becomes part of the .apk and has nothing to do with your SD card

i went into root explorer and into data/app and couldnt find my swype folder or anything to have to do with swype...i just installed swype from another website that was leaked....can that be the reason or might it be in another spot in my root explorer?

It probably installed on your SD-move it to the phone and look again

it is in sdcard/downloads as swype.apk so i just make the name the same as everyone makes it and follow the rest?

No...go to settings/applications/manage applications/sd card/swype/move to phone and then look in Root Explorer/data/app

ok..one more thing it says download file of choice to pc....cant i just download it straight to phone from browser instead? or do i need to do it through winrar and extract to deskttop?

Are you referring to these MetaMorph flies ?

If so, just download it from your phone and within MM choose unzip new theme

nevermind i think i did it...im rebooting now...for some reason though i have tried to do the liquid battery and the 3g round icon and my phone will stop in the middle of the metamorph and go into boot loop and someone suggested it might be the theme im using messing with the actual mm i am using but the swype just worked fine...any hints or suggestions?.....also everytime i reboot my phone when i have just swype checked, it always reboots and the android keyboard and swype will be checked at the same time...i have to go in every time and uncheck the android keyboard...i even tried backing up with it like that but still does it

but the swype wont work unless u uncheck it everytime u reboot....can i uninstall the android keyboard? and if so where?

That might be the difference between an Official Swype Beta and a leaked version

To uninstall the stock keyboard go to Root Explorer system/app/LatinImeGoogle.apk and rename it to LatinImeGoogle.apk.bak and reboot your device, to reinstall it take off the .bak and reboot again

I'm trying to make a theme and when I try to extract or apply it, it's telling me "the theme control file is either missing or incorrectly written". the only things I'm actually changing are the images, I'm not touching any of the XML. is there some trick I'm missing?

update: OK, weird, it's working now

Here's a red version of sneaky's Swype_DE. all I did was color shift the yellow to red, there's nothing else different. goes very nicely with the theme that comes with UD eXtreme 8.
