MetaMorph themes for swype

oh, you have to decompile it with apk manager.

side not i have officially changed the swype tracer trail color but can only do it to the leaked hacked version. i cant get MM to apply it.have to decompile the hacked version one and make the changes and recompile it. install and tracer color is different
:icon_eek: so neither of these will easily work with metamorph?

still trying to figure it out,way back before swype made the installer and activation process,i was able to change the tracer with MM but now for some reason its not. im investigating it now.

It's Swype.apk. MM said it couldn't find the file and then less than a second later it said new themes applied. Should I try renaming it to swype.apk?

it has to be swype.apk all lowercase. the metamorph file is looking for the filename and it's case sensitive, so yes rename and you should be golden dancedroid

Well I've renamed the file to swype.apk (all lower case) and restarted my phone and done everything I know to do and still no themed Swype. :(

the first post where zeak describes what to do is perfect.. you renamed the com.swype to swype.apk and moved it into system/app right? then reboot. then load up MM and apply theme. then reboot again. then go and try swype. thats how I always get it to work.. i have done it like 10x already from all the times i changed roms both mine and my wife's phone. I will try and help.

I have a Droid X so Swype came pre installed and that Swype.apk file was already in the system/app folder so I didn't have to move it. I also originally missed the part where I had to rename it to all lower case letters so I did the whole process before it was brought to my attention. I then renamed it (lower cased) and rebooted my phone and nothing, still stock Swype.

I just tried going in to delete his swype.apk in system/app so I could reload my stock swype there and then start the whole process over again but it says it's read only and won't let me rename/delete/edit it.

next step is to (re)apply the theme, then reboot again

Unfortunately I've tried that too. About 5 times. I'll keep tinkering with it. My main concern right now is that the file is read only and I can't edit or change the name anymore.

you have to mount it r/w in root explorer, top right button in root explorer when your in /system/app

Ok, I'll try that. I'm so sorry I'm such a retard with this, I just rooted my phone yesterday so I'm a Noob. I actually did a restore with bootstrap thinking I could get the file to be not read only so I'm literally starting from fresh (I think). Do I mount it before or after I unzip the file in MM? I've just changed the name of Swype.apk to swype.apk and rebooted my phone. The zip file is in MM but I haven't opened it yet. Sorry to be such a pain!
