Motorola Android 2.2 Update Suspended

again guys just try to be patient here use the leaked FRG22 for those having issues for now.

all i know is last night i installed petes 2.2 ota and everything works. tethering, flash, camera, everything. battery life has inproved, much...not sure, but is a little better. for some reason or other i am now able to run a 1.25ghz kernel as to before on bb v.04 i was only able to get a 1.0ghz to be stable.

my brother has a droid all stock. i just personally did the ota update on the phone myself. it is sitting next to me. still running the older baseband, its not the frg22. however it did do something strange. after installing and rebooting, a little screen popped up that said update something...(couldnt read it went to fast) and the phone rebooted again and now its running fine. everything works. no idea what that little pop up was...

mines rooted, his isnt. both seem to be running great. will try to install flash(dont see in market but i have the file on my laptop). not to concerned about future updates. if theres a problem, they'll fix it.

My unrooted Droid just got the ota for frg01b. Not so sure about the claims of it being halted. Slow first boot but its flying now.

I wish they would have suspended it before sending it to me:icon_evil: My phone is bricked, I tried a wipe and reset and even took it to the local vz store. They said it messed something up in the bootloader and are sending me a new phone from the warehouse.

I feel naked without my :motdroidhoriz:
So you were one of the few who got the OTA update? And it brick your phone? Wow!

Mine still won't take pictures or play video :( guess it is hardware

What are the symptoms? Is it telling you "This application is not installed"?

If so, all you need to do is delete your camera shortcut icon from your home screen and create a new shortcut!

Don't forget that the camera app was updated in this release; therefore, if you had a camera shortcut on your home screen, it is still trying to point to the old camera app which was replaced with a new camera app!

Let me know if that fixes your camera issues.

So you got the OTA update just now? I guess it must not be suspended..

I want to update but the link to do it manually is no longer working.. I guess I'll have to wait now

as of about an hour ago, my brothers droid had the update notification and i updated it for him. however his girlfriend droid(yeah we rule we all have droids dancedroid) isnt showing an update...

How reliable is this Trident guy? I cant find any other info that there will be a new build coming out or patch. So everyone just trusts him?

For what it's worth, I was browsing the Moto forums, and Matt (the employee representative) chimed into the discussion around 4:30PM and stated that the update rollout is actually progressing quite well, and there will probably be a waiting period of a day or so before it resumes. But according to his info, there are no problems. This is one of those things where at this point, I honestly don't know what to believe. It seems like some folks are still getting the push, from reading above. So the words from Moto could be true.

It didn't brick the phone, though it came close. The solution in this instance (in case it comes up again) to use RSDLite to flash the 2.0.1 SBF, then manually install the 2.1 update 1 update.zip file to bring it back to 2.1 stock.

Due to a correction in another thread, nearly bricked is incorrect. It wasn't bricked, it was only Mostly Bricked. :)

The real moral of the story here is that there's risk in ANY flash/update scenario.
