Motorola Atrix Heading to Verizon Q4 2011

By the time this comes out it will be outdated. Don't know why it's even coming so late. Tegra 3 quad-core chips are supposed to be in smartphones Q4 "Holiday season"

that picture is of a bionic

Yeah I knew it looked way too big to be a Atrix. Man that Bionic really looks huge.

Yeah I justs saw that. It seems like Verizon is dropping the ball again on this one.

Huge, well I did some very unofficial measuring based on the size of that moto charging plug, and it appears to only be hald a plug width taller than my DX and about as wide.

Atrix vs. Bionic

What I don't understand is, how come the Atrix, the supposed brother to the Bionic, is being released before the Bionic when they're practically the same phone? All this waiting is killing me. Fortunately, soon I'll have the Xoom to keep me occupied while I wait for the Bionic.

Fair point. Although we don't know the real reason for the delay with the TBolt, LTE could be a hitch here.

That, and VZW is going to space out releases while AT&T's lineup of Android phones is noticeably lacking.

Does beg the question why the Bionic is slated to be the last of 4 LTE devices VZW releases. There was also a rumor that VZW wanted to release the 4 LTE devices in succession over a month (don't really buy that, I expect they'll release phones at least 2 weeks apart, and more like 1 month).

I myself have serious doubts about this information. If they release a phone with those specs 4Q 2011 -it would be very outdated, and a very dumb move at the hands of VZW. I'm sure that we'll see another Moto phone come this Holiday season, but I am certain that it will blow this Atrix spec'd device out of the water....:icon_eek:

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon releases a decked out Motorola with the laptop dock and all by Q4, but a phone that will be as old as the Atrix will be by then? Doesn't make a lick of sense.

Of course, Verizon did release a phone recently that was about 8 months old...

If Verizon releases this phone at all they are doing themselves a great injustice IMO. Why would they reward Motorola at all for not releasing the Atrix on their network either first or simultaneously? Verizon is the reason Moto even has a name in phones right now to begin with, what are these people smoking?

If anything Verizon should tell them to shove it and take the damage, and approach another manufacturer to show them what a proper release with a flagship device on Verizon could have gotten them.

What to do? What to do? What to do? I don't know! I don't know. This is like an addiction, waiting for the next update or latest in new phone. Then knowing that a even newer one may/will be out in a few months! I'm going nuts. ( But I'm going to buy one )

Just played with the atrix with att of course. I compared it to my Iphone 4 and lets just say all you people who drool over a dual core are in for a surprise. Not only did my games load faster but when comparing a speed test 90% of the time my download speed was higher with my iphone and my upload speed 100% of time was usually 2-3 times faster. Also when scrolling through pages my iphone was much faster. Plus the unlock button on atrix is on back of the phone and the fingerprint scanner was ok you even need to press the button and then scan your finger. Overall this phone is not that impressive so all you people talking about ram and dual cores id have to say really need to get off specs and test phone out for yourself. Iphone has less ram and not even a full single core yet was faster....

Also your all going to be very disappointed with the screen size I put the iphone on top of atrix and atrix is a tiny bit bigger but pretty much same size of iphone.

I would figure thats because the Atrix is still running froyo.

Not everybody wants a huge phone. There are people out there, like me, that think a 4 inch screen, maybe even a bit smaller, is just about perfect for a phone

Just like with reviews, one shouldnt go off this one person's experience with it. I agree with him when he says go play with it in a store.

Problem with that is like with HDTV's in stores and some ppl adjusting settings...ppl can open some apps on the phones in the store and not exit them right. Some phones have lil maintenance updates right after launch, like the Droid X did to fix some browsing issue and some other stuff.

And I played with WP7, the iPhone 4 and an Android phone at AT&T recently. WP7 was faster, smoother than both iPhone 4 and Android with scrolling. Do I want a WP7 phone? No, because smoother, faster screen scrolling isnt important to me. For me, its the total, overall experience.

I dont want go against what the guy is saying, but almost every review of the Atrix said its a smoother, faster experience compared to other current phones. Web browsing is alot better too. Just go and play with one in a store...
