Considering VZ's CEO said "late Q2" which would be about May-June, I wouldnt be surprised to see it then

Also consider the fact that TB release date rumors stated Feb 14 and it was ultimately released a month later...I can see the same thing happening here where DB release date "rumors" start sayin mid April and it ultimately comes out mid May (which, again, falls in line with "late Q2")

Didn't BMX have a poem that hinted at TB and Bionic dates? He was dead on with the TB when everyone else was wrong. I think he said Bionic at Passover.

Yea. Don't be surprised about a late April launch. The Thunderbolt was never meant for a February launch till Verizon figured there's so much devices they wanted to be aggressive. They couldn't do it, so it ended up back at March 17th.

If he says it's coming, its coming. if its otherwise, he will say something by the end of the month. Right now though, I have high hopes for next month.

I'm banking on a Mid-Late April release (Passover). I will be going down to La Paz, Mexico on May 1st and having an HD camera and video recorder would be awesome, especially with possible video chat capabilities.

Does anyone know the best way to go about International data plans? I mean, the one I saw for Mexico was 75 MB of data for $100 a month, that's insane. The place I'm going has 3G, but that's ridiculous, having capped data for 3 months I'm there at $300.

Buy a cheap GSM phone from Craigslist. Go to a Mexican Telecom and get a month to month plan.

Use WiFi for your Bionic if you have it then... That'd be my plan.

It's not a global phone the last I checked like the droid 2 global where you can buy a third party pay as you go SIM and reload it as needed. International data and voice from Verizon is INSANE! $.99 per minute!

Do what the other member said, buy cheap SIM phone on ebay for now.

I want a good camera/phone while I'm down there so I can play with it. But I could wait until I get back, was just looking forward to the Bionic I guess. Sticking to WiFi hotspots could work, would just have to make sure I'm not streaming any 3G data so my bill doesn't become more than the net worth of China

If the Bionic is an April release, I am hoping that the bootloader is unlocked, like the D1. I also would like to know what the price will be on it- if they price it at 299, then it's WAY overpriced. The Atrix is the same dang phone, but with twice the DDR RAM, for 199. If they price it at 199 to compete with the Atrix, yet still has the locked bootloader, the price is still a bit over the top, especially considering the RAM on the Atrix. If Moto has been quietly upgrading the RAM to 1GB, then 199 price would fit. If it stays 512MB, not so much. But if it is an unlocked bootloader, it may be worth the 199, perhaps even 249...if they decide to price it at 299, then Moto can die on the vine, for all I care. At that point, I'll wait for the LG, or the Pyramid; regardless of network, they'll likely be cheaper.

Not too sure about the Samsung, as I have a bad taste in my mouth about their treatment of customers regarding updates not being delivered in a timely manner, if at all...

So what would you do? My NE2 upgrade drops the 22nd of this month- do I wait it out, and find out that the Bionic has Motoblur, half the RAM, and a steeper price than the Atrix, or wait even longer to see what else drops? I'm not married to VZ, either, if there is a superfone with good specs/price point on a different network, then so be it.

I would be patient to see how Bionic releases and have it in your hand before making a decision. I have been waiting months for my upgrade and yeah my Blackberry Storm 2 is really getting on my nerves but I just basically had to tell myself the old addage that good things come to those who wait. dancedroid

It probably won't be as supported because of the locked bootloader. Unless they find a way to get the keys.

That is the current concensus. If it actually happens is one thing but all signs right now are pointing to mid april.
