Motorola Droid Case Reviews

what is a good case that the top cover will actually stay on when you take it out of your pocket. Ive had several cases where as soon as i try to take the phone out of my pocket the top case comes off

I think the Otterbox Defender looks to offer some way over-the-top protection. I am really looking forward to this product coming out. Anyone hear of when we might be able to get one?

I'm planning on leaving my phone "nekkid" and bought a fold over holster at the VZ store today. Not what I want, but will do until I find exactly what I am looking for. I will use the two cradles (car and home) everyday, so a true case won't be happening.

Since I don't have my phone yet, but I bought the screen protectors that VZ sells, can anyone tell me if they affect the screen sensitivity?
Yes they do..

i didn't like the verizon ones. they just felt "wrong" if that makes sense. I prefer box wave or seidio as they feel more like what the screen feels like naked.

I had the verizon case holster combo and i liked it well enough. But, the last fall broke the top case. So, I've ordered the otterbox thanks to this thread.

Protection?

How do the materials compare for actual protection against damage? I have a Body Glove, but it is rather bulky. How much protection does a silicone case actually afford? I just read about a silicon and very hard case, but if a case is TOO hard, wouldn't that mean it can't absorb shock if the phone is dropped? If we are talking damage from falling, assuming the face isn't gouged by hitting something, how do the casing materials compare for absorbing impact?

Anyone know of a case that will fit the droid 1 with the droid 2 extended battery in it? Its not the huge seidio ext battery but the slim droid 2 battery. It comes with its own battery cover that just barley sticks out but its enough to not not let the back of my seidio cover fit on the back of the phone. Right now I just have the top case on but nothing on the bottom of the droid.

Otteebox all the way. Protects the phone much better, feels better, no other color but black, but it looks better than any sedo case imo. Also, if it breaks, you get a replacement for free, no shipping cost & you don't have to send the broken one back.

The otterbox looks pretty sleek. It looks like they don't have one for D2 yet tho. Is it thicker than the Body Case? If there are plugs for each opening do you have to remove one every time you use that function or can you work them with the plugs in place? I'm not sure how critical the plugs are since it isn't waterproof.

On the Otterbox case, you do need to pop the plug out for the micro-usb port, but the other plugs, you just push down on them to access the function (power, camera, volume) the same way as if the plug wasn't there. It's no problem at all to use.

As I don't own an Otterbox, I can't speak for it. From what others have described, it has more coverage. However, the thing I absolutely love about the Innocase, is that it comes in multiple colors, and if you want a multimedia or car dock, their docks are compatible with their cases, something no one thought of over at Verizon, Body Glove or elsewhere. The other thing I like about the Seidio is that the holster is face in, which protects the screen from drops when holstered. The thing I don't like = to get all the stuff you want from Seidio can get expensive. Especially for two Droids.
