Motorola Droid Pro

I know its been said that Bill declared the Droid Pro to have a physical keyboard but with news of the Global Droid 2 coming out as well, anyone think the Pro may be only Touchscreen? I would think they would try to make them different.

That's what I'm hoping for otherwise it's the Samsung Fascinate for me.

This is just isn't fair! j/k It does suck though seeing how I just bought the Droid X when it released. Kind of figured something better would drop anyways right after I bought the X. Always does. Guess i should have waited. :)

No, then u might wind up waiting forever....Although after a dual core phone I dont know what else another phone can have to top it.

I think a dual core, LTE phone might be the end of new high end phones being released.

I've played around with my parent's X's and it's not a bad choice at all. Best bet is to make a decision and don't look back.

I can't see this having a 12 MP camera. Think about how much larger the Droid X is than the Droid 1, with the 3 extra megapixels. Imagine it having 4 MORE; it would be a brick. Not to mention a camera with that high of resolution is going to jack the price up well past the $299 price mark.

You're probably better off getting the fascinate then. I don't think they're gonna change just because they're coming out with a global d2. The differences are the cpu and screen size more than likely. They probably won't feel the need to remove the keyboard just to differentiate from the droid 2.

I don't think that would make the phone much bigger but I also doubt it will be 12. The amount of megapixels really doesn't make that much of a difference when it comes to phones. It's all about the sensors from what I understand.

I don't care about a front facing camera.....I told my wife today this in my next phone.....i've grown to envious of her X :frown:

jstafford1 - Now, now ... you shouldn't be envious of her ex. She married you, didn't she?

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Decisions, decisions...

So I noticed last month that I'm eligible for Verizon's annual upgrade with re-sign of the contract. I'm more than happy with my rooted Droid at the moment, but when I heard of the R2 version, I was set on that.

Now, after reading all this about the Pro, do I hold off for that or get the R2 version? I'm a huge geek and Star Wars freak, I suppose it's a matter of deciding to which camp I more belong.

If only they'd make a Star Wars themed Droid Pro. Yoda would be perfect for the Pro.

On a side note, the tablet sounds very interesting...

uh, sounds kinda strange this topic :)

screen. 4,3 no keyboard. 4 with keyboard.
there is just one 4 with keyboard which is epic for USA.
gsmarena says thre will be a moto extreme with 4,1 with keyboard but i'm sure there was confusion between droid pro, droid x and droid 2.
Considering the situation, i'm not sure Motorola has produces already a fighter for droid x.
So...situation makes me think it wont' have 4,3 without keyboard but around 4 with, as gsmarean says.

But only if::

What would be cool is if the keybord was a slideout android touchscreen keyboard instead of a phical keyboard. Because I can hammer out text on a onscreen keyboard really fast but it takes up alot of the screen space. So a slide out form of the keyboard would be sweet.

I prefer an actual physical keyboard but damn...that's a really good idea.

Ya I think it would be realy cool. I like the droids physical keyboard I use it alot but I like the android keyboard better eventhough I rarely use it. because it takes over the screen with the slide out vertual keyboard it wouldent and it coLd be made to slide out vertacly and horazontaly.
Only if the thing can be seen outdoors in broad daylight. That's what's wrong with my present phone and why I would prefer the physical KB.

i raised this issue a while back in this thread - a slide out touchscreen keyboard. but, as someone pointed out to me, running 2 screens would KILL the battery...

Here's some new information to throw a wrench into the mix

The Moto Droid 2 WE and Droid Pro are the same device. There was a name change.

So the question now? What is the A957 seen in the screen cap below (just for reference)? Perhaps this is the 'sick" android device with dual cores?

Let the speculation fly : )

Motorola Droid Pro for Verizon is World Capable

I was thinking of both screens using the same kind of screen that the notion ink Adam can have.
