Motorola Droid RAZR to Get ICS this Month?

One question, one comment:
- Those who have received the text, Razr(s) only?
- What about the traditional soak tests that historically precede OTA updates....

I got the text and I'm on RAZR (not MAXX). I would imagine the soak test should start up sometime in the near future mainly due to the fact that we're seeing these messages and the ICS leaks are getting more frequent, which is usually indicative of nightly builds which means they're finishing up the fine tuning.

All of this is total speculation, of course. My guess is as good as yours.

Do you use the app? Some people are saying they don't use it.

No I don't use it. I'm guessing this is just a CYA text from Verizon so when this gets rolled out and people lose the mobile IM app (that actually use it), they wont be P.O.'d and flooding VZW with calls wondering where is their IM.

On a side note.. how many of you that received the text are registered with the Motorola Feedback Network? I am.

I'm assuming soak tests are to uncover potential "bugs" and fix them. Depending obviuosly on how the test goes, is there a general (approximate) length of time these tests have lasted in the past?

Just putting the final touches on the Fastboot back to .173.

Should be back to GB in a flash (pun intended)!

Edit: Just finished unpacking on the phone, down to the reboot!
Edit: Booting to GB .173!
Edit: I'm at the Welcome to DROID RAZR screen!! YAY!:icon_ banana:

I got the same text on Razr Maxx. I have used the IM app. I am signed up for soak. No pic due to no screen shot ability on stock OS. These are facts.
Now for speculation.
Soak is likely not far off. I'm sure someone will report the soak test as soon as the emails drop. Personally I will honor my confidentiality agreement if i'm chosen, but that's me.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Knowing Verizon, this is either a 15 or 30 day notice to it's users to find new IM, so they dont get hammered with phone calls. So my guess is another month of waiting.

I just posted to Twitter and got this:

@KrisGruttemeyer - @VZWSupport Should we expect Soak test emails today for RAZR/ICS?
@VZWSupport - @KrisGruttemeyer We don't have info on software being pushed out. The manufacturer would need to be contacted directly about testing sw.^LA

Those wiley VZW employees and their "I don't know anything" lol!

I'll buy 15, but not 30. Still, I'm hoping it's sooner still.

BTW, I didn't realize I Fastbooted back to .181, not .173, so I will just keep my fingers crossed that the OTA will come! :hail:

All the SOAK test I've been in....usually you get the email about a week before they start pushing out the test. The test usually last from the day they push it out to Sunday, I've had them last from Saturday to Sunday (a week) and one from Thursday to Sunday. Typically I've seen the roll out to everyone within a weeks time after the test completes.
