Motorola Droid RAZR to Get ICS this Month?

I agree. It would be very odd and possibly disastrous if they didn't soak us first. But maybe all the "leaks" have been the tests. With Q2 so close to being over I don't see how they could put out a soak. Unless they do it now.

I totally agree. I don't think these leaks were accidental. If I were VZW, I would let the developers test it and claim that it was an "unauthorized leak". That way if you brick your phone, they're not liable. I believe that WE are all on the front line of the soak, not the "official" soak test people.

I think with all of these leaks that came out for RAZR ICS, there has to be something going on here. Motorola might actually be releasing these leaks on purpose, or Motorola just has really weak servers and people are just downloading it from the servers.

Verizonese = a very obscure, not well understood language. Spoken fluently only by VZW upper management. Intended to deceive, obfuscate, or totally confuse the average listener. Be forewarned, the true meaning is difficult to decipher. Only a few outsiders have even a marginal understanding of this secretive tongue.

Let me translate into Verizonese
Very soon = sometime in the next 30 days unless we want to change our minds and add more bloatware
Soon = sometime in the next three months or see above bloatware disclaimer
Imminent = sometime in the next six months, or later if the weather is hot in Topeka
Quickly = maybe this year, maybe next, who knows, we don't care
Right around the corner = when you buy your next phone in two years...maybe.

I hope this helps

With these texts it almost confirms. 210 will be the release?

Maxxed Out!

No. A .211 has been leaked. And about these leaks... I am under the impression that these may be the "unofficial" soak tests... i.e. "unofficial" meaning as a previous poster said, they wont be liable if your phone gets screwed up. How does a version with build date of 6/14 get leaked early in the morning of 6/15?? Too many "accidents." And you know Moto knows about the leaks... do you really think they would let this many unauthorized leaks of valuable software walk out the door unaccounted for with no reprocussions for the leak source? I think not.

I thought about this also. Those of you that have gotten this text and say ypu dont use the Mobile IM app... have you EVER used it? I tried it once but did not like it. I wonder if they are only sending this to people who have used it at one time or another. The last sentence of the text does say, "Thank you for using Mobile IM!" So that would be somewhat odd to send to everyone.

And vice versa, have any of you that haven't received the text EVER used the Mobile IM app? I.e. actually signed into it, not just opened it.

I posted this in one of the "other forums" also, lol.

1) ICS is obviously in daily build status, which is proven if you use Cheesecake. More and more updates are being posted more frequently, which most of us would assume is indicative of them "putting the finishing touches" on it.

2) These so-called "leaks" may not even be "leaks". Think about it. Would you rather do a soak test on something that may or may not work on a large-scale deployment infrastructure. No. You would leak the preliminary versions and let us do what we do best; flash, test, reflash, test. It's free testing for VZW to have us all getting the alphas, betas or whatever you'd like to call it. If you brick it then they're not liable because it wasn't an "authorized update". I don't give credit to VZW often, but this is the best strategy for deployment I've seen from them yet.

3) Consider this: The build version on the most recent ICS available is 6.16.211 the build date is 20120614 at 3pm CST. The leak was discovered at 3am EST on 20120615. Do you really think that VZW would let ALL these leaks out THAT FAST and not do something about them? They're intentionally leaking out the new builds so we can test them.

4) MOST of us are fairly proficient at using RSDLite and the other myriad of tools at our disposal to flash back and recover in case a disaster occurs. We're MOSTLY tech savvy and now our way around the android OS as well as our phones. So I ask this:

Who better to test the new builds?! It's free testing for them!

I consider all of us as the true "soak test", which we have been a part of (albeit unknowingly) since the first stable build was released. Well played VZW, well played indeed.

Again, this is all just speculation, but come on now. I think we know who the REAL testers are.
