Motorola says buy a different phone

But SOMEONE will be able to break it, we know that always is true. Someone will find a way to fake the signature

If you got discredited for it the first time you said it, it sure didn't slow you down for saying it a second time.

Time will tell, indeed.

Problem is every try that is a fail = one bricked phone due to eFuse.

will that be something that could be fixed with rsd lite or are we talking truly bricked???

Truly 100% unequivocally BRICKED as in PAPER WEIGHT. The only way to unscrew the screw up is to take it to Verizon in which case they will send it to Moto, void the warranty, charge for the fix and return it to you. Welcome to the new Motorola.

Here's a link that explains it a bit more.

Chance Of Unlocking Verizon’s Motorola Droid X Gets Even Lower: Say Hello to eFuse | Android News, Reviews, Applications, Games, Phones, Devices, Tips, Hacks, Videos, Podcasts - Android Police

and to answer my own question it seems that efuse will corrupt the bootloader so rsd lit would most likely NOT work per what I read in the article posted above

It's frustrating because Motorola has even said they left the bootloader on the Droid to be hacked because they had different intentions with the device.

Get as all hooked then shut the door? :icon_evil:

As far as I am concerned they shut the door on my wallet as well. I am sure that HTC or Samsung will be more appreciative of my money. I have said it before I am not loyal to a brand or provider.

i think the encrypted bootloader will hurt them a little. i might get an x if i knew we can get custom roms, but if we can't ill get an htc phone because they have sense (good apps and nice look), so i wont need a rom.
it is like apple, i would not even consider an iphone unless i knew i could jailbreak it (but now that i have a droid, i would never buy one anyway)

We need someone on the inside that works at Motorola and wants to make some $ on the side. I'm sure people here would donate for that...I would.

I think this could backfire on them if "power users" unite. I personally touted this phone left and right and got at least 7 other people to get it. I'd bet that a lot of people on this board were instrumental in convincing people to purchase a droid. Word of mouth spreads, If people ask me about it I'll tell them its a POS and to buy another non Motorola device. Bye, bye motorola look's like you may return to the depths from which us droid users rescued you from.

I have already done this based on the news. One is waiting for the Fascinate, two people are going to T-Mobile tomorrow and getting Vibrants and two others cancelled their pre-orders with best Buy and went with EVO's. The more people I can steer away from Motorola the better. They deserve at a minimum to fail with the Droid X and worse case bankruptcy and closing shop. I have no tolerance for this from any product manufacturer regardless of the industry.

They wont ever go bankrupt just from locking down these devices, you realize they will still sell the X's like crazy and probably the same thing with Droid 2. Us romaholics probably make up around 5% of phone users, and I still will be getting the X.. simply because it's an upgrade from my Omnia. Now since i cook my own roms for my current phone I will be kinda lost at sea for a while, but that really doesnt bother me in the long run.

I don't think it will bankrupt them by my point is that most of the people I know turn to me when they need a new phone because I am a phone freak and keep up with it. My guess is the same for most of the people who are into rooting and flashing. We will see how this plays out but if the large group of root users around this phone I would bet that they could impact sales if they all started saying that the X sucks.
