Motorola says buy elsewhere if you want custom roms. Ok hello HTC.

Planned on jumping the motoship anyway, companies like Moto bring on their own demise. Remember it takes the consumer to build the product, just as much as the company that puts out the product. So if Moto forgot that fast that they were on the brink of destruction pre Droid 1 then maybe they need to suffer that fate again.
Unfortunately we dont even turn up on their radar. Losing us is meaningless. Sad but true.

You can't count on a carrier wanting the phone though. It might be of lesser hardware or not be pushed by the carrier and end up as a flop. I doubt their best phone will be unlocked/unlockable.

They are just saying that so they can do damage control. The first post is exactly how they feel. Although were arent a big part of their business, they forget that the technological saavy also tell others about which phones to get. I know it still wont affect them much but all profit is good profit and its never good to lose any of it.

Agreed, we'll just have to see which way they go on this. If they do decide to lock down everything I'll probably have to go with an HTC phone or the LG x2 if that is easy to mod.

Don't kill me for this, but what would an Apple Android phone look like?

Insiders have already said which way they are going. They are becoming even more locked down.

I am thinking htc is the way to go. Where are the developers going? The inc looks like it is easy to root right? Tb gotta be open too. But who knows. I guess we will see when tb comes out in feb. Based on 4g pricing i am going to inc or tb.

Don't kill me, but there's no way Apple would release an android phone.

Android runs everything thru VM, Apple would NEVER use that approach... The fact that their code is native is the reason a 2nd gen Snapdragon is supposedly = to a PS2, Gamecube, and iPhone 3gs....

Do you people know who HTC used to be? You might think twice.

If I pay for it, they wont tell me what to do with it....:blackdroid:
I agree once u pay u should be able to do what u want. BUT u should be responsible and take responsibility for ur actions, its there right to cancel warranty if you root it.
