My 2 months with the Nexus

Not quite, I was actually comparing the signal reception if you read my post. Bars I couldn't care less for, but performance speaks for itself. When we travel out of town, and nexus switches from 4g to 3g miles earlier then maxx does. You can't deny the fact that motorola makes superior radio. I love my nexus also, I but it's far from perfect.

Dont care, I wouldnt go back to Moto after having this awesome phone!

xeene,

You might as well be preaching to an empty church. Most in this forum section probably wont agree with you. Especially coming from a Bionic....that most say is FINALLY a decent phone after its latest update...lol. IMO the Bionic and T Bot were victims of coming out too early in the LTE game. Updates to both phones made them better just reading forums.

After having the RAZR, G Nex and Rezound....I agree with you. My reception experience ended at 4.0.3 radios for the G Nex tho. Out the box...no updates... the G Nex was last in my data reception experiences and Rezound first. After updates to all 3....I might say the RAZR is the best overall for phone and data reception. Again...I never tried 4.0.4 radios for the G Nex. And my Rezound keeps getting stuck in 1x in weak areas, while my RAZR will be humming along on 4G...just found out I may need a new battery door. Even then...if it doesnt get better phone reception with a new battery door....I would put my RAZR tops for phone and data reception.

Everyone's personal experiences dictates whether they like or dislike a phone, TV...what they think is good or bad. Just be glad you could do some real comparisons to other phones for an extended period of time. And when wants n needs come into play...doesnt matter if a Moto phone can last a week on a single charge and can be used in a nuclear bunker....ppl will like and dislike what they want, regardless. Wants n needs.

My RAZR is also far from perfect....but IMO, for me...its pros outweigh its cons when compared to the G Nex I had and my Rezound. Of course some others will feel the opposite.

I said the same about Motorola. Swore I would never get another Motorola again. Lol. Yeah right. As you can see I'm on a RAZR maxx. Got tired of buying bricks to make my phone last through out the day and then not having no car docks for it to fit. But to each his own. The gnex is a nice phone to.

if i could trade my Nexus, id do it right now.

my reception is TERRIBLE. the 3g to 4g handoff results in no data for minutes. CONSTANT dropping of data as well.

I don't like reading post like this. I'm up for an upgrade in April and I've narrowed it down between the d4, razr maxx, rebound or the nexus. Then I hear how great all these phones are then I read the posts about problems everyone is having.

Everyone? Not even remotely close..... Mine and hundreds of thousands of other Nexus are completely fine. You're just reading the complaints of a very very small % of the users. Don't base any decisions on what you read in any forums. Go try them for yourself and decide.

Signal issues of constant dropped data magnitude are hardware related, I am almost positive. If you have such issues, get a replacement.

I'm hoping the update will improve battery life and fix that android os issue everyone seems to have where its at 40%

Also signal hasn't been great recently on my phone I didn't have problems before.

My thunderbolt had signal problems too but after a few updates signal became great

If the update will be similar to the leaked version then it won't fix the weak signal. It will fix android OS being in high % of battery drain. Also it won't fix random freezing and reboots that is present in 40% of galaxy nexus phones world wide.

The 4.0.4 radios/ROM fixed all of my signal issues. I don't have freezing or rebooting and I never have. Just because your particular phone seems to be defective doesn't mean that everyone's is. Your comments are directed as facts, when in reality, they are personal observations of the experiences you've had with your phone. Please state them as such.

I can say that I have played extensively with the Bionic, TBolt, and Rezound, and none of them hold a candle to what the GNex has to offer! I never experience data loss switching from 3 to 4g, and with Franco's kernal, battery life leaves me at 20% at bed time. Coupled with Boot Manager and the fact that I have to try really really hard to brick this thing, its by far the best phone available! My $0.02

My phone reboots too. I'm pretty sure a couple do. Other people mentioned it too.
I didn't have signal issues at first but lately there have been slight problems.

Its a fact when there are stats to prove it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1490815
