My blue Kevlar case

Below are some photos of the blue Kevlar case I got from Infinity Carbon. I ordered the case on May 3rd, it arrived at my house on May 17th. I had a custom logo added to mine, so it took longer to get it.

It looks great on my Droid, it is a high gloss finish. I like how it slips right on under the clips without snapping on super tight like the Body Glove case does. The case is definitely on, it does not wiggle around. When you want to remove it, you just wiggle it out from under the clips and it slides right out.

The quality is great. When off the Droid, you can twist it while holding at opposite corners and it will bend a little. But you can tell it would take quite a bit of force to snap it. Some people may not like the thickness of the case, but it does not bother me.

Excellent customer service from the moment I submitted my custom order to request until today when I received it.

This case isn't for everyone. The case was $99, there was a $30 upcharge for Kevlar, and the custom logo work was $20. All worth it to me, this is a very nice case.

So here are the pics..........

Forgot to add....I think they could not make the cutouts so big and maybe eliminate all that space next to the volume rocker. I brought this up to the Infinity Carbon guys.

Now you have a bullet proof Droid. Oh and Florida Gators, are you from Florida? I'm from Gainesville myself.

Totally. I will carry the Droid in my chest pocket. :)

I'm not from Florida, but I did go to school there. I was just there last week visiting.

Blue?

Might just be the camera/light but is it blue?? Looks more green or olive if anything. How is it to the naked-eye?? With the exception of that ridiculously large volume cutout the case looks GREAT. And only ~a week turnaround for a 'custom' order is pretty dam good (lot better than those other idiots are doing......). Thanks for the pics/update. Might have to put this on my birthday wish-list for next week:icon_ banana:

ITA that the cutout for the volume rocker is ridiculous, it leaves a lot of phone unprotected. For that much money, a huge oversight.

Wow, that case is thick.

Agree on both counts. I'm talking to the IC guys about modifying future cases with more precise cut outs. I still plan on buying two more.

The thickness doesn't bother me, so I didn't mention it.

Does it not come with a front cover?

No front cover. Just the bottom.

You paid 150 for a case that does not come with a top piece? anyone else think this is a bit overpriced... to say the least

why do you need such an expensive case? I paid 18 for my seidio case and i feel its gonna do the same job yours does for a fraction of the price

and 20 bucks for a sticker to be put on the case? jeez

cause his is carbon/kevlar and yours is plastic. if you dont like it, then dont say anything. go post in the seidio case thread. its about individualism and his love for carbon fiber

It looks like it was taken from the Body Glove design due to the space for the volume switch.
I made a custom case and used the Body Glove case as a "chassis."
The Seidio case for the extended battery is hideous and no one else makes one for it.
I used epoxy that you mix with your fingers that gets extremely hard like rock when it dries to fill that open space next to the volume switch.
Kind of like doing body work on a car before you apply primer and paint.
I'll eventually get some photos up.
Like your case it's not for everyone because it's not thin.
Instead of bulletproof kevlar it's covered in bulletproof stingray leather.

It would be cool if more owners would post their cases especially if they're custom.

whoa there. My post was about the topic so I feel I am allowed to speak how I feel and see who else agrees with me. Yes I paid 18 for some plastic but its doing the same job as the 150 dollar case - protecting the phone

and not everyone has the money to spend freely like this - economy isnt in a state of prosperity

Cool if he loves carbon fiber - but what if I love platinum? should i spend the money to put it on a phone?

Phone: valued at 500 (about)
Case: 150.

its like buying a station wagon and putting spinners. I know its not the same because you cant really outdo the droid (as of right now) but spending 1/3 of the retail price on an accessory is just a bit outta whack

maybe im just being frugal, but who isnt these days?

but, hey, if you have the extra 150 laying around, feel free to PM me and ill gladly accept it

I don't have to be frugal, I have money to pay for these luxuries.

Like I said in my original post, this case, or any carbon fiber case for that matter, is not for everyone. Some people are fine with plastic cases in the $10-20 price range. Others want something better. I want something better and I am in a position to afford it. You'll probably really flip out when you find out I am buying two more. :)

Thanks MrSHFTY for the post. You said the same thing I would have.
