Anyone know if the 3G version will still have the front facing camera? Or are they stripping it and saving it for the 4G version?
I hate this, no corp. store within a hundred miles of me. Probably no 4G for quite a while either so if there are two of the speculated versions, I would be opting for the 3G variant.yeah, but remember the dinc hd will likely only go to corporate stores in the first place dude. Remember the Droid X? It was a week or two before the rest of the stores got those phones, as corporate stores always get first round action on new high profile devices.

Hopefully we will find out soon. After weeks of anticipation I suspect we will see something along these lines:
Nov 2010:
3G HTC Incredible HD
4.3 Inch Screen
No Front facing camera
1-1.5ghz processor (hopefully more than 1ghz but who knows)
Essentially a version of the Desire HD built exclusively for VZW
$199.99 with a two year contract
March 2011
LTE HTC Incredible HD (officially announced at the CES in January)
4.3 Inch Screen of higher resolution than the 3G model (again - a guess)
Front facing camera
1.5ghz processor
Essentially a 2nd generation EVO but for Verizon
$249.99 with a two year contract
Again - these are just guesses...I don't have the same connections as Miami - but enough has been said in these forums and chats and on twitter to begin to put the pieces together.
Personally I don't put much stock in the front facing camera. I think it is overrated on smart phone. I have one on my iMac and Macbook pro...and that serves all the needs I have for Facetime and Skype.
I just hope that Verizon launches a 3G version of this phone this month. If they don't - I will be seriously disappointed.
Hopefully Miami comes through for us this week. It seems like based on his comments that this might finally be the week that we hear something concrete. I am tired of the guessing and speculation. I am ready to buy this phone!!!

How do you not see front facing camera in the pic?
Droid1, CM6.

Guys, remember, the FFC was in the picture, BUT those are pics of EARLY hardware. A lot can change in the final version, so no one will know until later this week, most likely, if it has a FFC or not.
If they release a 3g version with no ffc or hdmi, then what's the selling point for the common person to choose this over the droid x? A lot of people don't actually know or wonder about the insides of the phone, they're more worried about the outside looking style/features than the cpu/gpu etc.
Personally, I'd love to have a ffc, whether it be wifi only or 3g. I feel that i'd get use out of it.
Test fitting? Like in some older automobiles, they would be wired for additional options but missing the extra goods. My vehicle was wired for A/C through the dash, but was not fitted with the compressor or condenser. Same chassis, but "upgradeable". This would fit with the theory of an early 3G/no FFC, later 4G w/FFC without the added expense of another shell, just internal components. Why would they put a FFC on a early model that was supposed to be a 3g phone and then just take it away later? I'm very sure it will have one, but it will just work over WiFi.
