Good god you guys will over analyze any meaningless tidbit you get, and then make all these assumptions about it. I can't count how many times I've read "well I'm sure he will..." or "trust me, it will..." in this thread.

I wish i could just say look here but i cannot go to deep in to details. Though I'm tryi g to get out what you need to know. Which is really the final result of my emails to them about idf there is two devices or a push. I'm still waiting on that answer and will post that as soon as i get that info.

...did anyone else eligible for an upgrade get a request for a survey from VZW?

The gist of it was "why haven't you used your upgrade?" One of the responses possible was "I want an iPhone." There was also a write-in segment where you could state things like, "I want an LTE device."

No I didn't get a survey - was this electronic or by snail mail? I would have written in the HTC DINC HD as the reason I am waiting.

Like many others, I'm on the fence about this phone. For me, there will have to be a differentiating factor to make me get it. My list includes display resolution, dual-core, LTE, processor speed and camera quality.

LTE and dual-core are all but completely ruled out (until Q1 2011). Processor speed will probably be 1 GHz or 1.2 GHz, and 2nd gen Snapdragon. Nobody (except Nokia and maybe SE) cares about camera quality - only the number of megapixels, so that's not going to be improved. If the resolution is still 480 x 8xx, this phone won't be much different than the DX (diff. manufacturer, skin, small processor difference).

My point is, if this doesn't deliver much more than a DX, what is it's purpose?

(If this has a higher res display, ignore this post. I'll be there opening morning with the rest of you sorry saps .)

That should kick-off a flurry of new rumors and speculation. Would seem an odd question, however, if the IPhone to VZW was a done deal, unless they are just trying to gauge demand.

Yes, it's possilbe we're talking about a device being release this month that is 3G, and then another device being released in Marchish that is LTE and other new features, possible FFC (if not in the November version), dual-core, higher res, etc. Miami is trying to confirm two distinct devices or one device that has now been pushed to March, meaning no new phone this month.

Wow, yeah that would definately be a deal breaker for me. I hope for 2 phones, as I can get another new one next year. But hopefully we will hear something soon, as I hate that I may have been waiting for the past several weeks for nothing, and may continue to wait for nothing.

My wife is getting the Droid 2 Friday. It kills me that she is getting new tech before me, lol.

You hit the nail on the head...if we have been waiting for over two weeks for information on a device that now may get pushed to accomodate LTE - then I am going to be really upset with VZW.

I had begun to wonder why the DINC HD wasn't showing up anywhere else but this rumored release date forum...not in any of the roadmaps, not in any of the leaked holiday advertisements...nowhere.

Now this push talk makes me really concerned.

yeah I will be very sad if they delay till spring. I need vzw service now, not next year lol! I dont even care if its not much faster than the dx, I basically want the evo/desire hd on verizon! If they released this now, then released a upgraded LTE version in march that wouldnt be smart for them.

Reasoning being, there would be a lot of angry adoptors of the 3g device who all of a sudden their new phone being less than 6 monts old is already obsolete by its younger brother. I know that would prob piss me off too. Just saying.

I'm thinking they should just wait until spring, and launch the LTE/dual core/ ultra high tech version. Or launch the 3g now then wait till this time next year for the lte version.

Lol, apparently I was posting that at the exact same time. All the searching I have done on this device has all traced back to this forum. So to me it looks like every bit of "leaking" on this device has all originated from here, where I would imagine had this device really been set to release this month, there would have been more links?
I am not by any means trying to discredit Miami, it just seems odd to me the huge lack of info on this thing outside of here.

I just can't see VZW not releasing a high-end, keyboardless, touch screen phone for the holidays. It doens't make good business sense if they didn't.
