Gingerbread is not going to be 2.3. Those of us with the Droid 2 are running 2.3.2 right now, and trust me it isn't Gingerbread.

I was impressed with the G2 when I got to touch it...so if it has that quality than cool...I just stopped watching stuff on it

Yes I have a friend that has the G2 and if it had sense and it was on Verizon....that would be the phone of my choice.

Well - Monday is now winding to a close and nothing. Miami...any chance you will hear from your Verizon contact today? Or have already heard that is. Business hours have now closed on the east coast...so I fear we may be in for yet another delay.

I heard from them 3 times today....

In the end it comes down to two trains of thought... yes there are two devices ( again i was told this at 4) and yes a 3G version is on tap as well as an LTE version. Now what I haven't confirmed yet is the why. I have been in contact by email and phone as recently as the last hour..

Now its time for boy scouts 10 year old son) so i'll be hanging around checking my phone for emails a while longer

Thanks for the clear update. Glad to hear they are talking to you. Now - I happen to agree with the two device strategy since I think there are still lots of folks that are not yet willing to sign on for LTE service but want a high end smart phone. Plus - I think VZW would be stupid to not release a high end touch screen device before the holidays.

The big question still remains though...when is the 3G device getting released and in any of those great phone conversations did they tell you that you can release the pictures?!?!?!?!

Can't wait for an update with pictures, release dates and specs. I honestly don't care why they decide to do two devices...just get them out already.

If the DroidX was any indication - there is huge pent up demand for a high end all touch screen smart phone at Verizon.

My 1 year date is Nov 17th... If this does come out the 23rd will I be able to upgrade early? I know i have before but does it allow me to do it as soon as the 18th or will it start my early upgrade on the first day of my new billing cycle AFTER the 17th? I am cutting it close with this DincHD's release date. I am just worried that it will sell out a few days after release.

Most likely, but you could get the one CSR that would stick to letter of law. If that is case go higher up or somewhere else.
