Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

Correction, the phone is not mythical. All that I am questioning is the 23rd. I still think it is very possible. But if we get to 7 days without any information, I will seriously question he 23rd... I suppose it is possible for Verizon to do a blitz the week of. The DROID 1 commercials did not appear until the device was released right, and then there HUNDREDS of them! Of course, we all know of the DROID 1 well before.. but I am talking about official advertising because that is really what sells a phone. Not the "controlled
leaks" that a small group of internet junkies latch on to.

... cut poor Miami some slack... dancedroid

he gives what he can for information... I'm pretty sure he signed an NDA (correct me Miami if I'm wrong) and isn't gonna risk his neck (nor should he) to leak some info.

Miami has always been willing to share what he can, and I'm positive will continue to do so.... key being 'what he can share'

Wow, I've never seen so many people complain over a phone. This is getting a little ridiculous. It's not like Verizon made you get your hopes up, you did that on your own. Miami and Verizon don't owe us anything. If you're going to switch carriers or upgrade to a different phone if you don't hear anything by tomorrow or whenever, you might as well switch now. Complaining about the phone isn't going to make the specs come out faster.

There are two groups of people it seems. The ones who will wait, and the ones who won't. Doesn't matter to me where you stand but if you're only waiting until ___day, then you are apart of the group who isn't willing to wait. Everybody just needs to calm. It's just a phone. Yes a very nice phone that a lot of us have been waiting on, but it's still just a phone. If you really need a new phone that bad, you can look on ebay or something. But until then, why don't we all just settle down. Miami said he will post more info when he can so heckling him about it won't do squat.

I can't speak for everyone...but I am not heckling Miami about this or blaming him. I think the last three weeks and over 300 pages of posts are the result of a very carefully crafted marketing ploy by Verizon to build hype on this device so that they could buy time and push this back. I am beginning to think there isn't a snow balls chance in hell that this device hits in November.

I would love to be wrong though.

As for the hype...Verizon has given Miami so many dates that he could release data or have the conversations necessary to release data that there have been nearly a dozen missed deadlines - not because of Miami but because of Verizon people jerking us around.

I guess HTZ/VZW have something in common with Apple - they both have mythical devices. Apple has the white iPhone and Verizon has the DINC HD.

Well I think people should stop blaming Miami for this. He's only providing us the info he get's from Verizon and people seem to want to blame him if things don't turn out like he predicted. If it doesn't come out in November, that's fine with me.

I can wait until next year. As much as I would love to get this device now, the area I live in is supposed to get LTE by the end of the year so waiting for a 4G phone is fine by me. Others may want to look at upgrading to something else if they don't want to wait for this.

Please keep in mind the August info assumed it was for VZW, but the actual device turned out to be for Tmo that was leaked and has been confirmed for release.

My guess is the wrong assumption the device in August was for VZW manifested into an actual device and then assumed and mixed further with other devices that have been confirmed.

IMHO, there is about as much chance of an 11/23 release of an Inc HD as there is for Apple to start adding microsd slots to iPads & iPods ;)

Really? Do you mind posting a link to that information? Must've gone right over my head haha...

As far as the device (whatever it may be called), I still have hope in Miami's information and will wait till he says otherwise. Until then, I'll be blissfully ignorant :D

Again - I can't speak for everyone else - but if you read my posts I am not blaming Miami at all. VZW is using him by way of the NDA. They say that they will call and release on such and such a day - he is nice enough to pass that along to us...then they don't call or they don't release info. Miami is playing by the rulse of the NDA - which is respectable. But Verizon is clearly using the situation just to build hype with no real indication that they ever plan on releasing data to the masses any time soon.

My theory is that they did originally expect to release this in November...but decided not do - either to push it back to December or January in conjunction with LTE. That said...they decided to kill some time and build hype. So far they have killed nearly three weeks with broken promises and NDA's controlling what information is out there. They will keep people busy while they release more slider phones and other such devices that most people aren't clamoring for.

They know they have a huge group of users on Blackberry's that are coming up on their contract being terminated and they have nothing similar or new to offer them...just the old DINC, Motoblured DX and Binged Fascinate. So - while we wait for the real deal...the Google experience DINC HD - they are using DF, Miami and all of us to just build hype.

Again - I am not blaming Miami for any of this. If he really is sitting on some good intel (maybe even pictures or more) then I feel sorry that he is trapped by the NDA and can't relieve the situation that has consumed over 300 pages here at DF. As the 23rd gets closer and closer with no news...the device is looking more and more mythical.

I don't think there is a mixup about the device. Miami stated that he has held and seen the device, and was told about the late Nov date, all coming from a source he knows.
I believe the device for VZW DOES exist, its just whether or not it will be released in Nov or Dec or next year....

The Droid 1 had almost two months of leaked photos and other articles prior to launch. The ony thing for the Inc HD is an assumed existence in August that turned out to be the 4.3" HTC device for Tmo.

If 11/23 does happen, kudos for keeping the launch so quiet. In regards to the silent launch for Droid Global (soft launch in marketing speak), it is probably due to low volume inventory and using first adopters as their own personal testing group ;)

Still, where is the FCC posting of the product? If releasing to the public, there should be one already.

Don't forget that on Verizon there were people that had seen and held the Storm 3 (Odin Refresh AKA Storm2.5) but it was cancelled at the last minute in lieu of an LTE Storm type device that will most likely launch 1st quarter 2011. What is to say they haven't done the same thing with this device and are just using forums like this to kill time.

A sequel-filled holiday?

This is interesting. In the specs for the Droid 2 Global, it's showing the 1.2 GHz Processor. I didn't know it was going to be a faster processor than the regular Droid 2.

Yeah, noticed that as well. I heard a while back that the Global was going to have a 1.2 GHz processor compared the the current Droid 2 and Droid 2 R2D2's 1 GHz processor. You think they'd of at least tossed a 1.2 GHz in R2D2 for god's sake...lol

But as viper1549 pointed out above, the release date for the Droid 2 Global was tossed around a lot and now all of a sudden it's released 2 days earlier than anyone predicted AND silently. Crazy.

We all should take this as a sign of things to come. Verizon is getting sneaky, they've done a top notch job keeping the incHD hush hush thus far, Incredibly so you might say, i'm anxious to hear more from Miami on what the future holds for this device! (hopefully a very NEAR future!)

I am heard that the New Droid X SE (Silver Edition or Special Edition) is Rumored to have 1.2GHZ on it.

I actually hadn't heard of the updated Droid X being released, thus i googled it and find it quite interesting...

It would seem Verizon is releasing sequels to their best selling line-up:
Droid 2 --> Replaced by Droid 2 Global (1.2 GHz processor / larger battery)
DX --> Being replaced by DX SE (1.2 GHz Processor / better battery life...?)

And to add a little speculation / insight as to what the IncHD may have:
Droid Inc --> Droid Inc HD
-1.2 GHz processor also? would kind of make sense to have it comparable to it's sister devices
-And we can only assume the battery will be on par with the others, after all the larger processor probably means the need for a battery that can handle it.

Plus verizon will be adding the Merge to the line up. I'm thinking that when all is said and done, even though we ALSO haven't heard much on the DX SE since it'd initial leak (just like the IncHD), that their new all-star line-up will be:
Droid 2 Global
Droid X SE
Droid Incredible HD
HTC Merge (binged out, thus not a droid *boo*)

Here's hoping! Thoughts anyone?

I'M POST 2012! It's the end of days for this phone!!!!!!!

Just kidding, so any news on a Dx SE, or is that all speculation?

The DX SE was debunked as a pre-production color scheme that didn't make the cut. The photos leaked after the actual device, so people assumed they were a new device when they were, in fact, nothing more than 6-month old photos.
