I just really hope to see it on the 23rd. I was playing with my friends evo and it was cool. Not all that. I just have to get use to the sense. I'm going to miss Motorola tho. I'm still on my original droid since release date and it still hasn't let me down.

It's the EVO's big brother....the EVO is a nice device but the HD is smokin' with the new screen and sense 2.5 on it...not to mention the extra ram/rom...

I have em all and while I like the X (it's my every day phone) I will equally enjoy using my HD too

Hey Miami,

I love my BMW!!!! But actually I was wondering why the X is your everday device vs the Incredible. I have someone who is offering me their X for my Inc. I love my Inc and plan on getting the HD day one, so just wanted your opinion and reasons for liking the X best for day to day use. :)

Thanks

My X is rooted and themed so it's not stock and with the big screen and HDMI port it has more options (for now). I also have the DI and 2.2 on the DI is simply awesome...as is the Droid x and with 2.2.1 almost ready for the DX and Droid 2 it should only get better from here.

I am not saying the DI is a slouch though not by any means....overall the Di is a rock solid device with incredible speed and a killer boot animation (did i mention the boot animation the the HD :icon_ devil:) and overall nice screen ( the HD screen was amazing ). It's the big 4.3" screen on my X that is the deal sealer. The big screen makes a big difference to me.

This falling back an hour did not gain me an extra hour of sleep, just means I get an extra hour today I guess......Looks like I am not the only one :)

So can I assume the HD Boot screen is even sweeter........Man you are making these next 16 days really long!!!!! I can not wait to see what you can divulge tomorrow.....

I understand your point BUT they don't want to lose their existing customers. I work at a bank as a manager and part of my job is to keep existing customers from leaving. If they leave it affects my branches net DDA goal for each week/month/quarter/year. VZW needs a high NET amount of accounts, not just new accounts.

Exactly. And I know many Storm users that are just waiting until November is up so they are free of their two year contract...if Verizon doesn't do this right they will lose a large base of customers.

This is exactly the boat that I'm in. I have been DYING to dump my Storm for a high-end Android phone. I told myself I would wait until Black Friday to see where things stand and then pull the trigger. I can't wait until March for LTE (and since I work in NYC I could enjoy LTE).

BUT if VZW doesn't come through with something terrific this holiday season I'm walking.

ALSO I will be pissed if I get the HD now and an LTE version slides down the pike in a couple of months. Having an upgrade possibility would be terrific, but seeing how VZW has handled the Droid 2/D2 Global I doubt they will, greedy sons of burritos.

So here is the thing...

Ask your self this...if you bought an HD during the holidays and loved it and kept your bill the same every month. then saw an LTE version come out and wanted it but it would raise your existing bill every month. Would you buy it?

If the answer is no you wouldnt buy it to pay extra $$ per month for an LTE device. Then you have nothing to fear. IF you would then I say buy a Droid off ebay or from a memeber here and wait out your upgrade till q1.

NO LTE devices coming this year is the word I got last night. SO I expect everything to be 3g only. Again that could be wrong but the office and place that came from has a pretty good idea of what's going on...

I mean they could even read this forum :icon_eek:

Why buy now then? :(

Buy the 3G now, sell it when the 4G comes out if you have 4G in your area. There will be a market for the 3G version even after 4G gets released.........

Plus remeber there could be a premium charge for the 4G data (like Sprint does now on the evo) and the 3G will still be only $30

This is exactly why I won't wait for LTE. I just want a super fast 3G high end all touch smart phone with a large screen. I'll wait to get LTE in about another year.

Still hoping that this phone is released this month and that I can pick it up before I leave town on the 24th for the long thanksgiving weekend.

Morning all. Dang forgot about the time change. Want to watch my lions play.
Anyway I kind of figured that there would be no lte phones this year it seems that pc cards are always released first. Also when does LTE drop or has it already?

If you go to VZW 4G site you can enter your address and it will say either "you'll have 4G by the end of this year " or "we don't know when you'll have 4G". As far as I know there isn't a map - you just have to try different addresses around you to get an idea of where it will be initially.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that before. It turns out my city (Chicago suburb) has no date planned but my work address (ten miles away) will be covered by the end of 2010!

Perhaps dumb question about LTE: most of the buzz I see concerns using LTE for your laptop to load full web pages and download files which is all well and fine. Unless I plan on doing a lot of tethering, I'm left wondering how LTE will change my life or be worth an extra $10/month for everyday mobile phone surfing, etc.

It's really personal preference. There will definitely be a speed boost in regard to upload/download speeds. The question is, are you fine with Verizon's current 3G speeds. Also consider Verizon's 3G covers more of the country than any other carrier and as you already know 4G will be limited. The hardware in this phone will also impact speed be it 3G or 4G, this phone will be fast.
