Name an App that Justifys a $30 data plan

Vintage Comic Droid: Free app with access to a library of 3,000 old comic books. You can download up to 10 comics per day at 12-30MB each. If you like old comics (I love the old-style Sci-Fi ones) this is a great app, but there's no way you could use it without unlimited data.

what I want to know, is why people would even consider buying a smart phone and not use it's available features. When you buy a smart phone you will use data on it. That's one of the big points to them. If you don't want to use data, don't buy a smart phone.

My mom didn't see why she needed a smart phone, but has quickly learned how extremely useful they are.

We briefly considered dumping the data plans and getting rid of our smart phones. The wife and I had both carried Samsung Omnias' for the last two years. After weighing all the options, we ended up getting Android based smartphones... (moto droid and eris)
We realized pretty quickly that we wouldn't be happy with anything else. You're talking about a dollar a day for the convenience of turn by turn navigation, unlimited web surfing, push gmail, facebook, twitter, pandora, youtube, news, weather, speech to text, google talk, google voice integration, wifi toggle .... and the list goes on.
The wifi toggle alone is worth 30 bucks a month and more.

There are a lot of ways to save 30 bucks a month. Cut back on one latte every 3 days or something. Switching back to a brick from a smartphone is NOT one of them... It's the best 30 bucks a month that I spend. IMHO.

450 mb in 9 days. nuff said :greendroid:

My kids enjoy the videos, and I keep up with ebay, facebook, myspace, and all day on email.
