New Bionic Specs?

if only they would drop the bionic earlier.

having my upgrade ready and needing a phone to tether with in just a few weeks really has me down

i really want this but waiting till aug is all but out of the question. might try and grab one off ebay when they start showing up there....

Winston25 over on Howard Forums, who is right all the time (as opposed to black_man_x being right most of the time), is saying that if he is referring to the Targa then he's off with his numbers.

I've read speculation elsewhere that this could be the specs for the next Nexus phone. I believe black_man_x eluded to the idea that Motorola might be making the next Nexus not all that long ago. That's 100% pure rumor from what I've seen though.

BMX is not tying the specs to anything, and he even adds the "justasking" tag to the tweet. We would just have to wait and see. I am waiting for him to say if this is for The Bionic or Another. Or is he just throwing it out there.

If anyone is familiar with the Mobile Panda on Twitter, you know he's good to his word. Well he just tweeting a stat line that cant be ignored and I'm pretty sure it's the new Bionic. He mentioned that he put in for a new test model last week (He works for Verizon).

His tweet:

If this turns out to be true, then my wait for the Galaxy S II might end short and land on the Bionic.

I highly doubt this is a Motorola phone. Moto, so far, has been tied to the Nvidia & OMAP SoCs. As far as I know, production runs of those for 2011 will only be up to 1.2GHz.

The only current production SoC that I've ready about going up to 1.5GHz is the Qualcomm MSM8660. Everybody knows that HTC is the biggest Android vendor that uses Qualcomm, so I'm guessing there's a good chance it's an HTC phone.

Cool specs, but if it's Q3, I'll pass.

I'll be choosing from the best-of-the-litter in the next month or two. Moto REALLY blew their product timing, IMO - and so did VZW. Imagine if they dropped a Moto phone now that was even just close to the original Bionic specs? It would have been such a hit for VZW's LTE roll-out, and there's so little formidible competition right now (TB, Charge, some new 3G phones) Moto would be eating everyone's lunch. I know Moto wouldn't want to release the Bionic if it wasn't right, but this all just seems like a "Swing and a miss" for Moto.

I do not know how you can say they missed their Product Timing. There is no Dual Core LTE phone out there Yet. They can be the 1st and if these specs hold true it will blow every phone out there away even the GS2.. They said Summer so the Latest is September because that is the end of the 2ndQ. But I am thinking early to late August for the release...

The thing is, we've been hearing anything from Q2, to summer, to Q3. Let's remember that while it's not summer yet, there are only about 6 weeks left in Q2. I read somebody's prediction that it would release 3 or 4 weeks after the Dx2 is released (which the last I heard was online tonight and in stores next Thursday), so I really hope that holds true. I'm still on a Bb Curve and can't wait to officially join the Android community. But since I've waited this long, I have to ride out the wait for the dual core.

Specs from the website that the phone comes with Bionic boasts such innovations as dual-core 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 chipset, 16 GB internal storage and a 4.3 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen featuring 540×960 pixel resolution. He says it is due out next month. Boy I hope he is right.

I work for Verizon and am high enough up the food chain to be able to tell you that if they worked for them they would have been fired a long time ago for misleading people, it's just not that difficult to figure out who these people are and giving sensitive information out if it's true or not is something that we frown on! There are testers that are closely monitored and told what they can say and not but other than that it;s speculation you only need to go back to thunderbolt release thing and read what these people were saying and they never did give the real reason for the delay. They kept changing the date but let me tell you there was never a date some things with the network the 4G end needed to be fixed well enough at that time to release the phone period. The battery life is ehat it was from the beginning no changes just a little tweak is all.

BMX Replies to The Tweet!!!

Well since I have to answer the question I will. I am still in Maryland and still on vacation, havent seen what the revisions of the "bionic" even look like. The device I was giving specs for is not the bionic and isn't even a Moto device... IN FACT it hasn't even been picked up by a carrier yet.

Not sure who the guys at HOFO are as I haven't been over there in years but perhaps they have information from moto that I dont have access to.. wouldnt be the first time but I can and will only speak with devices I have in hand.

That being said I am glad that in the face of all these other launches you all are still excited by this device.

^^^^^^ +100 I agree with that, I just hope I make it higher on the food Chain, I can keep the cardboard promo of the bionic at my house, actually I am so high on the food chain I actually own a bionic I just wanna be super cool and be the only person who owns one, thats why I won't let it drop.
