Yeah, I'm familiar with that but I'm interested in finding out what differs if it does with the original hardware since they have made changes to the device specs....But yes, its basically like the speed of the og droid as far as processing speed

Oh ok... sorry, I read through your previous post too quickly... it sounds like they took the Optimus S and just threw some software on there to allow it to switch back and forth, from what I've read so far, but who knows for sure until someone gets their hands on it.

Yeah I somehow doubt they changed the cpu or anything..lol But I'm sure you are concerened like me with having a device to not only save money with, but if its anything like my D2 speed, I would e impressed. Lol But I'm assuming its going to have some issues being beta..lol

My wife and I were on Virgin for awhile with the LG Optimus V (same phone). The phone is great, the network was bad. Very slow, and sometimes just wouldn't work. They used Sprint's network as well, but true Sprint users get top priority on the towers, so to speak, so all the prepaid users' service tends to be rough at times.
well they definitely weren't ready - I was never able to get close to even starting an order... not a great start:
"
Wow. Nov 8. What a day it has been. We are ready to take orders, but due to overwhelming demand, we can’t accurately estimate a ship date. You’ll get your membership startup package in the mail within 30 to 60 days of your order (and less for the early birds). If you’re cool with that, go ahead and order now. If you need more specifics, check back with us soon (or keep hitting F5... kidding, please stop). Thanks for your support and enthusiasm. We can’t wait for you to be part of the republic! "

Everyone, this was launched as a limited beta. There was no expectation that they will fulfill tons of orders immediately. They stated to get in early or you may have to wait. You try offering an unlimited smart phone for less than $20 and see what the demand is like. I bet it is more than you imagine.
I wouldn't bash the company because their demand on this new test service is extremely high. Give it some time.
