New ICS leak .214

I updated, can't see a great deal of difference in the notification bar being dim, not sure if notification icons pretty much look the same or not.

Too soon to tell about battery life, but the first thing I noticed is it seems much "snappier" ... pretty quick and snappy. Also not sure if they did something to the notification bar, but the notification icons look a little bit better ... not completely sure. The Gmail notification is actually clear enough to see the "M" ... don't remember it being like that before, notification icons were pretty dim. My battery life has been great anyway, so if it improves it, I will be very happy. Got all the bloat re-frozen and now it's time to play around and test it out. :p

Just installed the update. It was really easy going from stock. I'm thinking the notification bar is a little bit easier to read, but you know what they say about the power of persuasion. I really hope it helps the battery life, which I desperately need. I agree with the others when they say the phone now seems to be a little snappier. Totally awesome right now. dancedroid

I keep hearing about the notification bar issue. Mine looks just fine. Can someone post a picture to see what you're taking about?

I guess some people's eyes just aren't as good as ours, because I see no issue either. Looks fine to me. I've got a bionic running the .230 leak, but the description of the "issue" sounds the same to me.

Ics removed the native Motorola task killer. That app was great for battery life. Anyone know a substitute?

Too early to make a definitive decision about battery life, but when I installed this leak I was at 70% ... I have been using the phone almost non stop, calls, texts, downloading ringtones, and setting up new voicemail message and using the speakerphone, and I have only dropped to 50% ... I am going to charge up while I'm sleeping, and see how it goes from fully charged tomorrow. So far so good.

Notification bar looks fine to me

I can't get my phone to work in 3g only mode which sucks because 4g is just not practical unless you are plugged in

They better come out with a battery fix because ICS has cut my already pitiful battery life by like 1/3

LTE ON/OFF app in Market lets you have 3G :)

Not rooted here...so put the 6.7MB or the 15.5MB on the SD card and then power off and hold both volume keys? Sorry, I'm a little bit of a newb...;P

I'd also love some "noob" steps to follow. Don't feel like bricking, getting an error 7 or accidentally wiping my phone if I don't have to!

Haha welll...im stock and put both files on my sd card. Powered off, held down both volume buttons, then selected recovery, then android logo with red triangle warning came up and then you hit both volume keys again. then i chose install from external card....and i chose the 6.7mb one which i hope was the right one...

then it installed and rebooted. then when it powered up, it came with that little black box "android is upgrading" and showed the apps getting updated. I was scared at this point. thought maybe it was wiping it or something. then it finished and everything is still there! so im happy by now.

i was nervous whether or not it worked, so i went to system settings and checked out the about phone. sure enough .214 build date 6-29! Thats how you do it stock baby!

I feel so accomplished!
