NEW ICS leak .238

It doesn't take long at all to set up a phone after a reset if you prepare. Spend the 6 bucks and buy rom toolbox and back up apps and app data. Hey look I just saved you 2 hours of re installing apps and passwords and signing back in. Now all you have to do is set up your widgets/apps on your home screens and then your wall paper.

No you didn't. You just reintroduced the bad system data that you were trying to get rid of in the first place! :P The "passwords and signing back in" part of that is stored in system data. So you can restore your apps and potentially app data, but, not system data. I use RTB Pro, as well. But you gotta be careful what you restore. No system apps. And NO system data. At least in the case that we're talking about here.

I firmly believe that the only reason i don't experience the issues many people do, is that i always start with a clean slate.

Takes me all of 15 minutes to get set back up, I've done it so many times

Couldn't agree more. Priority one for me after any flash is to factory reset, then wipe cache, THEN restore apps/data (FWIW I use rom toolbox pro rather than TiBU). Also had a corrupt internal storage issue somewhere between leaks, formatting it was painless also because i have not only HoB, but some KNOWLEDGE. HoB is a timesaver for the people that know what they are doing, not a cheat for clueless people.

I think I mention that somewhere in the OP for the HoB. :D FWIW, I just factory reset my 238 install and am waiting for play store to restore all my apps before I restore their data with RTB Pro. Once that's done, I'll do a new nanroid and a clean backup with RTB Pro. I had brought my data through every leak up until this point. :D No problems, but, a clean start is not a bad thing from time to time.

I would have then used the HoB to do the following:

o) REINSTALL 238 option
o) AFTER the update installs in recovery, skip the wipe cache step and instead use the factory reset option
o) Reboot

I just finished a factory reset on my 238 and I have zero issues.

Ok, so after using hob to go from 235 back to 238 and performing a factory reset and NOT restoring anything with ROM manager or TB, the VZ Navigator error was fixed however trying to setup smartactions with a home location search, still results in a error, unfortunately ils has stopped. This doesn't happen to anyone else. Back to 235 for me. It just won't let me search a location in smartactions.

Odd. Well, with the D4 done we should be seeing a soak for the Bionic soon. Be interesting to see what build it is.

I'm talking about apps and app data you download from the market not system apps. Like netflix I have never had an issue reinstalling these. If you have a problem with the system data how would the app data be corrupted. It's the system data that is corrupt at least this is how I understand it

You mentioned restoring passwords. Those are generally stored as part of system data. Hence I wanted to be VERY clear that if you have system data corruption, restoring user apps and data ONLY is a good idea. SOME apps store their own passwords, but, not all.

Fyi, I am having the same problem. I'm going back to 235 tomorrow and hopefully that will fix it.

.235 has an email issue with stock email client with apostrophes. .238 has a ils error with locations.
For me, I love the location based smart actions, I set them up in .235 and used SamuriaHL's HoB to migrate back to .238. The smart actions that were setup in .235 are working in .238, you just can't create others. The email issues is fixed in .238, so I have the best of both worlds until the "mythical .241" gets released and I can HoB to it.
