Everyone stay on topic and keep from insulting other members.

This goes for everyone. This thread is now being watched and infractions will be given if it continues south.

Consider this a warning to everyone here.

Please continue to enjoy the forums folks... we've got a great community with a lot of great minds... and from time to time opinions and thoughts are going to clash. Let's keep it professional and friendly.... anything less will not be tolerated.

Thank you!! The positive attitudes and help I've seen from people here is what makes this board the place to go, at least for me it is, I just don't like to see others put down, that is why I spoke up to begin with.

I agree. I will continue to make mistakes and miss typo suggestions... that's life. As for the slider pattern unlock... it still has emergency call option so I could still dial out with pin or pattern so its really not even a bandaide.

Also we are the true testers of these roms and giving feedback and suggestions on possible improvement is not whining. Good developers like to take ideas and put them to work. They have a purpose... not just satisfying a whiner.

I am sure that zen and metick are aware of it and in the very least are TRYING to work on it. Though the slider issue is a small price to pay for an amazing rom to begin with, ya know?

To everyone who has posted here: how great is all the hard work being put in by the whole team?

Sure, I wanted v4 hours BEFORE the new/Friday MIUI base came out since I'm one of the "I need the new ROM now" group like some of you. Course patience is not one of my strong suits, so I'll be sure to refresh this thread and the google code page multiple times a day like I've been doing since Friday night!

Looking forward to the day (whenever it may be) when the dev's think it's ready!!

I could use that but its more like a bandaide. I don't like the pin or pattern lock

I use an app called call and confirm. Whenever i want to dial out a pop up comes and asks do you really want to call. option call or cancel. never called anyone accidentally dancedroid

I agree. I love MIUI. Im still using it and I will still be using it when v4 comes out. Its not stopping me from using it...its just something that happens to me that would be nice if it didnt. Its a different story if I was asking the devs to make the ROM work with the slider keyboard. The only time I even use my slider keyboard is for terminal emulator, and nesoid emulator (dont even use either of those that much).

I can live with it, just hope it is something that is being addressed in future versions.

I think people just need to stop taking it as complaining and more as bringing it to light. Some people here seem to think that Im implying MIUI sucks because of this happening. Thats not what Im saying at all. Ive been using Miui since v2 and love it (was flashing roms a lot and stuck with ss4.8 for a while till miui). I have been aware that this ROM is not designed for the droid (or a phone with a qwerty keyboard therefore it doesnt orientate as such) since v2. I guess just being in the chevy forum (where chevy takes issues that are brought to attention and fixes them, and adds features that users request) I assumed it is the same in other dev forums. Not so much looking like it here as some are posting childish responses and using the "its not happening to me so youre an idiot for bringing it up" mentality. ya know!

Thanks for response. :)

As for the use of other apps to make me have another step in calling someone. I dont want to do that. For ease of use, I want to be able to take my phone, unlock it...press dialer...dial my number...and call. I dont want to have to put in a pin, use a pattern, or an app as an extra step, just because my slider is unlocking my phone. Id rather just appologize to whoever got a call from me with wind noise and motorcycle exhaust sounds.

if my phone is in my pocket and the slider unlocks...and my leg can press force close for the launcher, open apps, dial out to last number called, etc...Im pretty sure it would be able to push ok on the pop up window asking if I want to dial out. Its a nice suggestion, but I dont think it will completely eliminate the possibilty altogether. Definitely worth a trial period though. Personally I am not wanting extra steps in dialing out when I want to use my phone though.

who cares let that last caller hear you talking. as long as ur not talking bad about him/her :icon_ banana:

I seem to have lost my YouTube app. Can't find it in the market either. Anyone have a backup.

D1-MIUI-0.10.15 v3.999 is missing a couple essential apps including the Car Home Launcher, Genie Widget (News & Weather), GoogleFeedback.apk, MediaUploader.apk, OneTimeInitializer.apk, and YouTube. My lean version includes these missing apps. The only app I have removed is the Gmail app, which you can download in the Market.

  • Added Additional Ringtones Found In Bugless Beast
  • Custom Droid Boot Animation Found In Lithium Mod
  • Disabled Camera Shutter / Video Recording Sounds
  • Added Apps That Were Missing From The Package
    • Car Home Launcher
    • Genie Widget (News & Weather)
    • GoogleFeedback.apk
    • MediaUploader.apk
    • OneTimeInitializer.apk
    • YouTube
  • Deleted Apps That Can Be Obtained On The Market
    • Gmail
Download Here: D1-MIUI-0.10.15-v3.999-Lean.zip

Hows it lean if you added more apps? :P PM me if you want to be added to Google code to upload. I see no reason for you to take the Beta rom I uploaded add a couple apps and put it on a different site.

Haha, good point. PM'ing you now.

haha, I was thinking the same thing. I dont talk bad about people though, so not worried about that. It would be funny though if that happened.

been using miui since the first port! Very happy with it, the only thing is the lag on the contacts/mms, which sounds like it's fixed in this latest update. Really excited for V4 to come out (just getting used to having a solid phone so betas aren't for me atm). great work guys, really into this.

I noticed that I'm missing "Accounts and Sync Settings" too, but I figured it would be included in the v4 ROM tonight.

Are you comfortable with ADB?

adb remount
adb pull /system/app/AccountsAndSyncSettings.apk
adb shell rm -f /system/app/AccountsAndSyncSettings.apk

Now rename it to AccountAndsyncSettings.apk (In case you don't notice the rename change, you're deleting the s from AccountsAndSyncSettings.apk)

adb push AccountAndSyncSettings.apk /system/app/
adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/AccountAndSyncSettings.apk
adb reboot

I tried this and the menu is not showing up in Settings. I even went as far as to make my own update package and flashed it, with no luck.

Ahh nevermind, I just pulled the AccountAndSyncSettings from v3.3 and that worked fine. It seems that the one shipping with v3.999 does not work at all.
