New OTA Update Downloading......

The guy at motorolas tech support didn't say when the soak ended and of course that is not how he refered to it rather that intitial testing has ended and that the OTA being pushed now is to random phones and that it started the 6th and will be completed to all phones by the 13th, of course its just another week I'll wait but hey I'm only repeating what I was told, bet you can call again and they might tell you something else right?

i hate waiting for these ota's. even thoughn it is "random" i always get it on the last day.

I've yet to be picked to participate in a soak AND receive updates after everyone else lol. So don't feel bad

I'd wait for confirmation that they are the same OTA package. The "old" one was released January 23rd if I'm not mistaken. I'm holding off for the time being.

i got it from the guy who got the leak from the moto servers, he told me the the two are exactly the same. look at the size of the two files..... they are exactly the same ....

Yeah I saw that. He pulled that last month and even though they are the exact same size I haven't had the chance to look at both of the packages. They very well could be the same.....or not

Gator, would you rather have the not ready for prime time update, or wait a week for an update that is getting tested with real users? You will get it soon and i hope it solves your prblems

i take issue with how you put that... i am a "real user" and the leak came from motorola it happens to be the same "update" that you will have on your droid razr in a week or so. unless you know exactly what your talking about keep your opinions to yourself.

Nubia ok take issue LOL, I am glad you know what you are talking about and have such a great source as some "guy". You might want to head over to the moto feedback forum and sign up as a volunteer tester.

I have read here and on their moto's support site that when they do soak tests they use as many of the volunteers as they can. They don't use them all for various reasons. To keep the test user sample numbers where they want it they also select non volunteer users. Which explains why some non-volunteers are getting it as well.

Do you think it is possible to create 2 files that are the same size but have different content? Meaning the size of the file alone can't be used to proclaim that all versions are exactly the same?

For all I know they might be the same size and the exact same update. But since they haven't actually rolled it out to everyone yet there is no way you can make such a claim. You won't have anyway to prove it beyond the "guy".

They may find something they want to fix before a full release or they may save those fixes until the next update who knows - you don't

Your Maxx is up to date with the most recently released software. 2.3.6 has yet to be released.

The ota that was released was a soak apparently. If u didn't get it, you won't for a little bit, could be days or weeks. Idk. I didn't get it either, so I fell ya
