[New!!!][ROM] D1-MIUI-1.1.7.0

Hey guys what do you back up using Mui to restore the desktop. Do you backup system or apps.

Sent from my Droid using DroidForums App

I think I've read that it's just apps that you back up. I tried the MIUI back up and it worked well but, I was wondering how to stop the market from refreshing the apps so I can apply the back up.

I've got everything reloaded okay but, for future updates, is there a way to keep my phone from trying to reinstall my apps (since I have them in a MIUI backup)? Seemed like I had the MIUI back up going and had the market trying to download my apps at the same time.

Thanks.
You can skip the activation screen by tapping once in each corner top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left. I do this every time. I then use MIUI Backup to restore apps then my call logs, MMS msgs, wifi-settings, and desktop layout from the system tab. Then add your google acct. in accounts and settings or launch gmail.
Works like a charm, every time.
There is a video on you tube if you need further clarification on the activation screen part.

Loving it! Restored with miui backup with no problem.
Has anyone else seen an increase in performance? My quadrant is lower but my phone is super smooth! Anyone tried a different kernel with this?

Yes, I experienced a very noticeable increase in performance on this build. On 12.31 I was running Chevy's 1.1 GHz ULV kernel, with this one I'm sticking with his 800 MHz ULV kernel.

There is a nagging issue I've been dealing with for the last several builds and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing it. I watch flash video on CNN.com fairly often and for the last month or so when I go to watch a video on CNN after 5-10 seconds the browser closes. I don't get a force close, it just closes. I doubt this is limited to CNN.com but that's about the only place I tend to watch video on my phone other than the You Tube app.

Has anyone else noticed a similar issue and is there any way to fix it? This was not an issue with previous builds but I'm not sure I can pinpoint when the issue began - perhaps when our Droid builds started being ported from the Milestone instead of the Nexus One.

I believe this is happening because our droids dont have enough ram or memory to use this rom to great effectiveness. As the miui team adds more and more features the rom requires more ram to run alone, then the more apps u use the less ram u have till big apps like the browser running flash crash. Its become a big issue on the latets versions of the rom. :(

System. Desktop Layout is one of the items to check.

I haven't found a way to stop them. I go in and stop each one, one at a time, except for the "root" stuff like Titanium Backup. Time consuming, but it works. Then I restore them from Titanium.

Just throwing in my 2 cents of a suggestion. But (although I never really tried this), couldn't one just turn off Wifi/3G to stop the market from syncing since it has to use the internet to do it?

Or you could just turn off sync from the pulldown maybe? Just a suggestion?

yea that happened to me last thurs during the vzw ces keynote, dolphin mini didnt crash, but took forever to load the flash. Honestly ive never had much luck with flash on the droid. Im using skyfire for anything i cant find an app for.

Thanks for the reply. I tend to use the stock browser. I've never had great luck with flash either, it's generally pretty choppy but over the last few months it was starting to get better. Typically the video would start out choppy but after 10-20 seconds it would be perfectly smooth.

I will check out Skyfire and see if I have better luck. If not, no big deal, I can always use my PC to watch video.

EDIT: I downloaded it and Skyfire has an even scarier privacy policy than Facebook! They say they retain all personally identifiable information. I might be too freaked out to use it, though if I limit use to watch CNN video I guess I'll be ok.

EDIT 2: Skyfire is working pretty well for video on CNN. It's hard to choose which videos to watch but it does work.

not sure if i found a bug or a feature. if i go into a sms conversation and click on the compose box, the keyboard comes up but cover the most recent text. shouldn't the texts slide up so that i can see the most recent one even when the keyboard is open?

doesnt happen to me.. when i click on compose box the text moves up properly to make room for the keyboard (swype).

It did this on 0.12.31.0 but it is working right on 1.1.7.0:)

Sms pop up shows incorrect time of text, but when you go into the thread the time is fine. Its off by like 5 hours
