i just call the big red, got the promotion, no question asked. just smooth transition~!
thnx for the infor!! not much saving but more mins and unlimited txt!!! with less money! yay

I called today and was asked if I got the email and I said I thought I may have a while ago. I have no idea, as I never saw the email. Anyhow, the rep looked at my account and said, "Yep, looks like you did get the email" and then went on to tell me about the promo. I'm not so sure it's a better plan for me though and here is why:
I currently have the 2100 plan with unlimited texting already for $130 for two phones and and have 3 more (total 5) phones. I get a 20% discount from my work, so my pre-tax and pre fee cost is $104. So the only advantage to the promo would be the unlimited data. Two of the five phones are no longer being used, so I really have three now. All phones are normal phones - non-smart. I am wanting to upgrade to an Inc and maybe one of the other phones would upgrade as well. I would want data on those phones, which currently is $30, so that is a total of $60.

So anyhow I called and was told that the new promo is ONLY good on the 1400 min plan ONLY and that my company discount would not apply. I thought it was good on a plan of at LEAST 1400 not ONLY 1400.

I think I may be better off just keeping what I have and paying $60 for both of us to have unlimited data on my current plan.

Doug, You need to call back and talk to someone else. The promo only credits $20 towards the smart phone data knocking it down to $9.99 a month. Your company discount will still apply to the talk and text portion of the plan.

I have 20% off on those items which covers my work discount the the other promo on the data portion....

All, if you live in the Gulf States area....Texas,Louisiana,Mississippi,Alabama, Florida they have unlimited Mobile to any carrier mobile included in a plan. I went that way and came out better. Just trying to help!

Do you have it on the 1400 plan? Does anyone have this promo with a higher plan than 1400?

When I called they offered me a 2000 minute plan for $10 more ($149). I did not take it because we only use about 700 minutes a month, but you just need to ask.

You'll still get to keep your discount ,as well.

That is a better option if you want to pay 29.99 for unlimited data. I was switched to that plan automatically w/o approval and lost the 20 dollar data credit. If they were to continue giving the 20 dollar credit and give you unlimited mobile to any mobile then yes. If you are receiving both please let me know. Btw I was given a 20% discount on the data plan with that promo but it still ended up costing 14 more a month vs the 20 dollar credit.

I read about that unlimited any mobile promo, but like redelephants said, it's not as big of a savings. UNLESS, you *really* need to call many different cell numbers on many different carriers. My husband and I talk to maybe the same 30-40 people every month. Many of them have Verizon. For those who don't, we just use some of our 1400 minutes. Now with this plan, we also have the 10 Friends and Family phone numbers... we spread those out to the non-Verizon people we talk to the most. We are barely making a dent in our 1400 minutes. (Keep in mind we do not use our phones for business calls.)

Me and my husband had the mobile to any mobile plan with data and after his employee discounts it was running us $172 a month....I switched us to the new plan and now our bill is running $135 and we were increased from 700 min to 1400 min....the savings is awesome :D

My current plan runs $185/month with only 1 smart phone, 2 dumb phones, and one regular phone with data. 700 minutes, unlimited text and a 21% work discount on the base service. If my math is correct, this plan should cost me around $150 plus tax with 4 smart phones. Sounds pretty good! I'm going to call today!

I posted that message right after I got off the phone with Big Red.
The "qualifier" seamed to be that I had a line with less than 12months left on contract.
Great find guys!
That savings posted was "pre taxes & fees" so over $50/mo off!

I would agree 100% with this. 3 months ago it did not work. I was1 year away from contract end as of Jan 1. The representative I talked with said that I was not sent the email (told them I was sent it by a co-worker) but talked with their supervisor and was able apply it. (You might want to try it before the new "rules" hit on January 16th.) Saved me a ton!

I just called and hte lady was willing ot sign me up right now. However, it is not going ot be cost effective - I did the math and I'd end up paying more than I am now on account of one of my phones (my main business line in fact) has absolutely no data and no SMS on it at all, saving me a bundle on 3 phones on a family package. If I had data on all three lines, it would be a different story....

I just spent 1 1/2 hrs on the phone with Verizon COE (Center of Excellence). I have five phones on my acct., Three smart and two dumb with a 2100 min plan.
My bill runs $228.00 before taxes.
I changed all phones to the data plan (the dumb phones can access the web), and my new bill is now $180.00 before taxes with 2000 min plan.
Here is the breakdown:

Old New
primary $130 $120
data for 3 phones $89.97 data for 5 phones $149.97 ($100 discount) = $49.97
$9.99 for 4 phones $39.93 same $39.96
Corp disc. $32.00 $30.00

That is a savings of $48 per month.:icon_ banana:
