You guys ought to know by now that you can't force VZW to do anything , only Steve Jobs can do that. lol

We can definately sense the anticipation for the Thunderbolt. I would be more than happy to provide you with as much insight as I can about the Thunderbolt's release date, Brandon.
Unfortunately, at this time, Verizon has not confirmed any launch dates for the Thunderbolt. Basically, Verizon gets to decide when the Thunderbolt hits store shelves. Last I heard about the situation, there were a few technical setbacks that caused them to push the release date back; however, I can't confirm that, as this information didn't come directly from Verizon. Basically, since we can't confirm anything about the delay, we really can't make any sort of comment about the release date (or lack thereof).
If Verizon feels that there's any reason to delay the release of the Thunderbolt, we are not at liberty to overturn that decision (especially if it's a matter of technical difficulties). Verizon is ensuring that that they have taken every precaution to make sure that the launch of this powerful device goes over as smoothly as possible.
However, once we know more about the release date, we'll definately announce it through Facebook (HTC | Facebook) and Twitter HTC (htc) on Twitter), and of course HTC.com.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us, Brandon.

I don't understand how people continue to hold VZW blameless in all of this.
...
BB has had my $50 dollars for weeks now and that has to be a direct result of info straight from Big Red's mouth. Several people keep on singing the refrain that VZW has never oficially released a date for release and therefore we have no right to be upset.

We may be able to blame them for some sort of delay but it is based on filling in missing pieces of the puzzle and making a lot of assumptions. The rash of TV spots and their timinng indicates a delay, it doesn't prove one.

There is not a shred of evidence that VW told BB anything other than a very loose ETA (probably Q1). BB acted "cleverly" and as the other poster said will get interest on your $50 for a courtesy call. You can only be mad at yourself. Going with BB to me was simply a way to insure I get a phone on day 1. That almost for sure won't be an issue but it gave me some security. They have my complete endorsement to pocket the interest on my $50 for a month. It is about 25 cents...

This too funny.. Have you ever heard of little company called MICRO$OFT?

I'm not saying it hasn't or can't happen, just that it is incredibly unlikely in this case. Why? The relationship between PC manufacturers and MS is entirely different than that between VZW and its suppliers. MS was more or less a sole source. Apple hardly is to VZW.

Also I guess you heard a little something about a huge anti-trust settlement with Microsoft? Or perhaps the multiple settlements with states including over $1B with the State of CA?

I only ask cause I emailed the CEO of Verizon and got a phone call from one of the "assistants" and was told nothing yet.. of course that was a month ago at this point.. grrr....

It was general, through their website.

We have to look at this honestly. Is it not better to hold back on the release with something potentially pretty seriously wrong or release a half baked handset? I'd rather wait, personally.

Of course, I'm waiting on the Inc 2, so I'm in an even worse boat. All we have is vague info on it.

I just stopped by an authorized Verizon reseller and the gentlemen mentioned that all 4G phones will be 299.99 on a two year..Take that for what's it worth...

off topic: what information do you have on the incredible 2? i love my incredible and wouldn't mind getting a phone that's like it later in the year once i'm able to upgrade again. i read a few reviews earlier and from what i understand it's basically going to be the incredible s (called incredible 2 instead) and will be modified to work in the us with the verizon network

on topic: i really thought verizon was going to announce the thunderbolt today and then have it available for presale on monday. maybe the phone will be a silent release but still be available next week? it's possible... not likely but possible

At this point anything is possible........ now probable is another story. I have a strong feeling that we will not see this phone for quite some time. There is obviously some issues with it that is holding up the release.
