Newbie Guide to Rooting the Fascinate

holy crap dude im about to get mad, now i cant get my fascinate to show up on my computer to put the update.zip on sd card, i have debugging, allow mock, media sync, samsung drivers, and pc studio but still wont show, it was going so well

just try rebooting with it plugged in to the computer

i got it loaded up with EB01 but some things im not figuring out like i dont want audible tones and when i uncheck audible tones it still plays a tone when i type a text message??? And now for some reason i cannot get the APP HeyTell to work, and i have to constantly login to the app Word Feud for some reason it isnt keeping my information stored. Any suggestions?

I never was having those issues before just curious why those wont work.

you have to go into menu/settings/language and keyboard and disable the sounds on the individual keyboards as well...

as far as apps go try menu/settings/applications/manage apps, choose app and clear cache and data....if that doesnt work try uninstalling and reinstalling after a reboot...

I will try all see if that works for me, just curious is there any like ummm tips of some pretty neat stuff i can do now on EB01, i mean i already realize it makes the phone pretty dang fast but anything else, interesting stuff that you might know of? I understand you dont have to give away your trade secrets or anything but i just want to know the great positives to upgrading to EB01 platform over stock besides rooting and bloatware removal.......btw i greatly appreciate your patience and help with all this

Well....the themes have greatly matured over builds and we definitely have the best available by far for EB01, not to mention the 5Lock screen mod, data throttling disabled, 100% batt charging notice disable mod, they are currently working on getting TVOut working [MOD] TVOut - beta 001 - incomplete? - xda-developers , small flashable files and scripts to delete batt stats and fix permissions through terminal instead of in Clockwork Mod recovery, the list goes on...lol

EDIT: HULU is now a flashable option on EB01 as well....i love it

yeah man this new EB01 does not like hey tell at all, if you can connect to someone it gives you some kind of mario type theme, takes forever in a day to recieve and for some reason the only one that seems to be working for me is going from me to an AT&T Iphone <-----hope i dont get into trouble for saying those two words on this forum lol

I have no experience with that app at all but another option is to try 'fix permissions', [Fixed] Fix Permissions (With Rom Manager and Without) - xda-developers this will try to repair any permissions on the phone...def worth a shot

TAPOUT any suggestions on battery life? Since i did the update seems like my battery is drainin pretty quickly compared to before or am i just dreamin?

reboot recovery and wipe cache and in advanced wipe dalvik cache then flash the battery stats file and reboot and run the clear battery stats in Terminal after a 100% charge, same thing for fix permissions, keep GPS off when not in use, same with bluetooth and wifi, i also turn off auto rotation....Brightness is at 50%, I run minimal widgets and use a task killer on occasion to end apps when im done with them
