Newbie Guide to Rooting the Fascinate

Any suggestions on how to get the virtual keyboard back???? I apparently did something and now when i try to start a message or type in any field the keyboard will not come up at all. Please help before i have to do an insurance claim.

what exactly did you do...? in menu/setting/language and keyboard...is there a keyboard listed in there?

i have no freakin clue man what i might have done, no there is not one listed just says Select Locale and User Dictionary

if i can just get the keyboard back on here i can get back to running normal, i just cant type anything at all in any field, the only thing i can do is call a number or recieve a call or receive a text. Other thing is that i factory reset the phone and still no keyboard, and i just re-rooted.

in the market search for better keyboard 8 i think...its free and it will give you a new keyboard....thats the easiest way other than an ODIN restore

what ever i do it will have to be from my computer because when i did the factory reset, it wiped everything out for me even my account to get back on market and since i cannot type anything well you see the problem i am having

were you running stock out of the box? had you updated, flashed Roms etc?

I pretty much rooted the day i got it, then downloaded ROM mgr, titanium backup, set cpu, overclock, and i believe within rom mgr i did the clockwork mod flash, like a dummy i didnt back anything up on the phone

These are the stock 2.1 ODIN files....simply follow posted instructions in the thread and you can be restored in 10min or less...

Froyo 2.2(this will root you, install EB01 SC v2.4 Rom, install EB01 modem, install EB01 kernel and install custom red ClockworkMod recovery) saves you all the time and trouble of doing it yourself

ok looks like the DL01 links are down but the DJ05, DL09 should work....i know for sure EB01 works

I posted about the DL01 being down....did you download ODIN ok?

yes i just did ODIN but i read that if i dont do DI01 and have to ever send into verizon that its bad deal this still true something like because they hadnt released DJ05 or is that old stuff?

btw i dont mean to sound retarted but where is the instruction set for this if you dont mind me askin on running all this to restore, thanks
