NFL Mobile now requiring subscription?

It is pretty simple. (Not that I like it) You can watch rerun vids for free, but bendover and pay for the live
Where are these vids that you speak of? Every video I click on asks me to subscribe to V Cast.

And why does the app still work for some? My buddy still has access to all of the videos and was just watching the live stream of NFL Network.

maybe he paid for vcast

just yesterday i did part of the Vikings-Saints game on the radio in the app. Hope i don't get charged extra for that...

I think I read that audio streaming is still free, but that's it. Although I can't even find the option for it.

audio streaming is good enough for me. i clicked "Listen" and no other warning came up. If i do find out i get extra charges, Verizon is going to get an earful from me.

Other than that, this app is more than i need. I would stream games if it weren't for vcast

I could kind of see them charging for watching live streaming, but having to pay to watch these video of Tom Brady signing a new contract and whether Matt Forte will be a bust in fantasy this year is just an outright joke.

It only hurts us Droid X owners even more because the 2.2 update still isn;t out yet. At least I could watch these videos on ESPN or NFL.com.

There's a hacked version of it out there somewhere. A link was posted on another forum and the mods took it down before I could get it. It exists though. If you find it, PM me a link please.

If you had the app installed before a certain date (July 1st I think) you get the Thursday and Sunday night games for free. Everyone just getting the app has to pay for everything.

You sure about that? This is the first time I've heard this and already uninstalled the app.

I have the original droid and watching the games for free still no subscription whatsoever. A buddy at my work was telling me how it sucks that you have to pay for it and I told him I still watch mine no problem. So idk why this affects alot of people but mine still works?

This is definitely true. I've had the app installed for a good while and could watch videos just fine. I had to do a hard reset on my phone last Wednesday night. Now, the app I have requires V-cast even to watch the videos of previous game clips. Are they kidding....I'm not paying for that crap. The only time I will pay for V-cast is if there is a Thursday night game that I'm interested. Then, I'll sign up for the $3.00 deal....it's cheaper than going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch.

BTW...I've noticed that frequently, when I first bring up the app it will force close. Then, it comes up fine....it's only on the first load.

i just downloaded the app for the 1st time today and its letting me watch videos without signing up for vcast.

Apparently verizon does not love all of its children equally.

OG droid and I just watched two games on my phone, no prompt. Dad and brothers with incredibles both got that prompt. No idea why.

Sent from my Droid

Yes, You will be charged for the games you can still use the NFL menue for features like Favorite team, stats, roster, NFL news for no extra fee . So if your having to watch the game then your going to have to pay up!

If you downloaded it back in march or whenever it first came out you get the 1st year free.

I got a Droid 2 about 2 weeks ago and installed the app after having it on my D1. Works fine with no prompt to sign up. Highly doubtful we'll get charged unless they give us a message to sign up and we accept. Otherwise I wouldnt worry.
