[Odin] Full EB01 Froyo leak, packaged ROMs w/root and new clockwork **UPDATED**2/11

Ok, so this is where i'm at. I got the drivers installed and my pc will connect with the phone, and i can get it to connect in odin. But the strange thing is, is that the battery has to be in and the phone turned on. Odin will connect to it and the rectangle on the left turns yellow. I go to load the tar.md5 file and it checks the file with no problem then it goes to "setup connection" and sits there. It's been at that point for about 30 to 45 minutes as of now. I'm going to leave it connected tonight in hopes that it just takes a while.

you have to get into download mode first (the yellow triangle). Are you in download mode?

odin will recognize your phone when connected to your pc via usb, but it will not be able to flash it until the phone is in download mode.

jonagpa,

That's my main problem. As soon as I put into download mode my pc throws up the blasted usb device not recognized. I know i have the drivers installed, and I've turned antivirius off.

(update) I was able to root via the one click method, unfortunatly i'm not sure what to do. I tried downloading Clockwork but link was not working. Tap do you have a link to the file that doesn't involve dropbox?

im enjoying 2.8, its so smooth, and the EB16 kernel is great, when it comes to tethering! ive used it a few times for my friends. I hope the kinks are worked out.

The other new release EA(i cant remember the numbers), is that another official verizon leak or what?

Hello all. My new fascinate will be here tomorrow. I am going to use this guide to root. Which tar file is the best to use coming from an unrooted fascinate? Also once rooted it says not to flash in rom manager. How do I boot into recovery and make a backup and install a new rom in the future then? I am familiar with using cwr on my rooted nook color and droid.

Use the ODIN SuperClean v2.9 .tar

Yea Rom Manager is incompatible with the modded red CWMR Froyo requires...dont use it for anything

Boot into recovery manually by holding vol up+vol dwn+pwr button for around 12 seconds

ETA is 2 hours or so......

Whats up with the 2.9 odin?

OP updated sir...sorry i didnt get it up sooner...

Alright, awesome... hey whats your opinion of 2.9? Have you tried it? Is it stable? I havent tried any of the supercleans yet. Right now running the bloated eb01 with all verizon stuff renamed. Do you think 2.9 will make my phone run better?

Thanks for the info. Do I use 2.9 eb16sc29 or eb16sc29x? Do I want the version that wipes or the one that doesn't coming from an unrooted device? Also can I flash OC kernels in recovery with this?

Im currently running it with the v2.9.1 patch and its great so far...batt could be better but thats mostly my fault im sure...GPS locks fast, speed is great....

The difference between v2.9 and bloated EB01 is night and day...trust me
