OFFICAL OTA .zip Installation Guide Droid Razr & Razr Maxx

Just installed whew, just make sure you have matts utilities downloaded first and use them ICS is great wish I had patents sometimes :icon_ banana:

Hey guys I want to thank everyone here for the help on getting ics. I appreciate the help. It feels really good to have it!

I'm still battery low and no ICS. I went to church, decorated for VBS and still no charge on phone. Left in Fastboot screen all night. Anyone want to try a stab at helping me again?

well up and running on ICS now. did the droidrazrutility 1.7 step 1 then step 2, let the phone try to reboot and it was configuring something. after configured, went into recovery and updated with .zip. went through fine. like the features. Global mode unlocked so will try that in afghan on the locals sim cards in a few months.

Tried the P.1 method 3 times, failed 3 times, recovered 3 times. Still have Gingerbread. I have the zip and the tool available if the ota (eventually) fails, and I'm certainly glad of that, but I need the box to be working, so, I wait. Thanks all.

Okay, so I couldnt wait, but I wish I had. I tried everything listed in this thread to no avail. I did run the Droid 1.7 Razor utility and seemed to go smooth. When I rebooted I failed the first time. Got a cute little android guy laying on his back with an exclamation mark on his stomach. Rebooted and this got back into the older stock Gingerbread .181. But the lag time on everything was horrible, so I tried another factory reset. This time it was a little better but email is very slow and backup assistant wont work at all anymore. Just says I cant access network servers. Contact verizon.

Am I in a real pickle here? If I get the OTA like I should have waited for in the first place, will this work and resolve my issues?

I'm in the "nogo" group... I'm on my 5 or so attempt at installing the update from page 1. Followed instruction exactly and keep getting "install aborted" and something about sideload. I'm wiping cache like 4 times before telling it to apply update from sdcard. Phone is bone pure stock. Any clue what I'm doing wrong? Keep trying???

1 wiping cache partition 2x
2 Apply update from sdcard
Then
-- Install /sdcard
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: mount("ext3". "MTD" . "system" . "/system")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7)
Installation aborted.

To People with issues. After running the prep tool and clearing cache data you must reboot into GB then reboot again and go back into recovery and install the update. If you dont reboot into GB you will get endless errors. After you reboot into GB your install should go smooth.

I was in you predicament a few days ago I had to make a factory cable if your comfortable with a soldering iron your can make a cable from a usb cable that came with your phone or buy a couple from walmart heres the link I use easier than I thought and work like a charm .

Sorry to be dumb, but how do I reboot into GB? I'm trying to download Matt's tool now. Did while ago but it wouldn't unpack in my C drive. Trying the download again.

Thanks
