But cereal killer you posted pretty definitively that the update was coming in March. You know one of those "I know something you don't" posts with the words "Trust Me" used a lot, but it seems you were wrong

of course I was wrong. We (meaning me and those sources) don't make those decisions. These things are very fluid.

I did say in another post that it could very well release right AFTER this week.

Anyhow, they are already porting things from the Nexus 1 for use with BB and other ROMs. What will the Nexus have (or what does it have currently) that you won't be able to get if you REALLY want it?

Hell this big ass update after all this hype and I couldn't care less about it (from what I've read). What makes you think the next update is going to be any better/different?

I have been on this forum since early DEC and watched all these people get excited about 2.1, now it is getting ready to come out and the same people that were excited about 2.1 are already B*tching and moaning about something that hasnt even happened yet!

The idea that it will be a deal breaker if it doesnt get this or that is just ludicrous!! I wonder how you deal with other things in your lives!! Are you that spoiled of bratz that if your "mini super computer in your pocket" doesnt get moving wallpaper your done with it????

Remember there was a time when you had to write on paper and wait for the mail man to drop it off and then wait a week for a reply!!

God some times this "I goota have it now" generation pisses me off!!!

That could be but would limit where Flash could run considerably. You would think Adobe would like to have it running on as much of Android as it possibly could.

Unless they are concerned with its performance and function and then choose to limit it to later Android releases so the experience is solid. They can't afford for Flash to be perceived to be poor as the critics will jump quick.

Do you folks think that when/if Flash is released that it will require 2.1?

The worst part of this update is having to see 4320957430579 more 2.1 threads pop up until it does come out...with debates on what it will include, rooting, blah blah. lol

Just for the record I've never been interested in a single thing 2.1 has to offer other than Flash, which like I said, is rumored to be able to be downloaded eventually...and if not, I'm sure it will be ported into a ROM.

How can you speculate on whats going to be included based on one article. Let's wait until it gets here. Celebrate, be happy. Then 3 or 4 days afterwards you can start complaining. That's the way it always works, why change now?:icon_ devil:

lol exactly even if we get every feature the nexus one has and the phone flies and drives your car for u people are still gonna complain. no one is ever happy jeez. i see people already saying if the droid doesnt get the full 2.1 update their switching to the nexus one when it comes to verizon. its like wtf!? who cares go ahead cuz its gonna be the same thing their gonna be complaining about something different no matter what. if u constantly complain about one thing your gonna complain about something else

Flash requiring 2.1 is the only thing that'll make me want upgrade at this time. Otherwise I'm very pleased with BB7.4 overclocked to 800mhz.

If there is no live wallpapers, how is it any different then most of the roms out there?

Even if there is live wallpapers...who cares? I can imagine that those will lag the phone and take up more memory. I don't unlock my phone to stare at moving wallpapers, but maybe that's just me. Besides...all of my icons and widgets are going to cover them up anyhow.

Yeah this is what i think about "awesome home screens". I don't see the point, the total amount of time, per week, i stare at my home screen could be measured in seconds. The picture gallery is what i want and an updated music player, other than that i am happy.

Also, for the time being, the N1 is only available on TMobile with only rumors of it being available for Verizon...

It's not a rumor Google says the N1 will be out for Verizon the spring of this year.

I don't usually believe stuff until I see it in person. Not saying it won't happen, but I can't count how many times the iPhone to Verizon "was a done deal" or "2.1 is going to come out in a week (which was like two months ago)" blah blah.

Ummm, when did either Apple or Verizon say that the iPhone to Verizon was a "done deal?" Never. Google has CONFIRMED that the N1 is coming to Verizon in the Spring. You're trying to equate rumors with facts, and it doesn't work.

Well, unlike most, I see this as good news.
I guess I'm a virgin to smartphones being that this is my 1st one but I've never gotten ANY updates on ANY other phone. Now I'm about to receive my 2nd update on the Droid. Life's back to normal for me, I mean after it was flipped upside down in an alternate universe yesterday when the Colts lost...
But I'm happy again :icon_ banana:

Wow this has been a great week. Saints win. Android 2.1. Only thing to make it the best week ever would be flash and megan fox.

I'd prefer a flash from Megan Fox myself...
