"Official" Beautiful Widgets Skinning Thread

When skinning, can anything be changed with the AM/PM? And what about the weather stuff? I see nothing in the release notes about either so I am guessing at the moment those cannot be skinned. I am working on a unique skin and I think it will look pretty good. Just look better if the other stuff can be changed.

Yes you can now skin AM/PM icons. Samples in the latest SkinDevKit , look in the airportone directory of the zip file.

Other stuff will possibly come later, there has already been discussions of changing colors (and maybe fonts) of the "other text" (city, temp, etc).

Tama is very proactive with his apps and I am sure he will get to that stuff when he can. I know he has been working hard on releasing a new Twitter app, "Touiteur - Twitter for Android" that looks to be impressive and may be released in a few weeks.

first off, credit to the author of the Destroy skin as this is the one im talking about. i started messing with a few thing in photoshop and did this real quick with the number 4. so my question is, how do i get it without the white background? i flattened the image before i saved it, so maybe this did something.

how can i get a clear background? can anybody help me? thanks!

make sure you don't have a background in photoshop and save it as a .png. Make sure all you see is the checkered pattern in photoshop as that means it is transparent.

its not done yet.

i really didnt think anyone would like this as its jus the background and clock background.

I was still looking for a nice font face for the numbers.

Ill try to work on it as mych as possible

The ONLY thing that BW skins has the to do with the screen shots you see in this thread is the upper approx 20-25% of the screen. Everything else is part of the particular users home screen setup and NOT a part of Beautiful Widgets Skins.

If you want to see more info about Home replacement screens and cool icons you shoudl spend some time in this thread. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...s/717-screenshots-peoples-droid-desktops.html you can literally spend days on that thread finding information about Icons and Home replacements "screens"! To save some time I would start around page 92 and go from there for all the latest stuff.

I think if you edit the numbers and remove the lines it will look good. You could also copy the number files from Naked Droid if you want a Droid Font style for a quick test of how it would look.

I made a new one. I am open for suggestions. This one I made myself.

The font is based on the Left 4 Dead (1 and 2 ) game. The background can be found here: Droid Black Skull

Edit: I fixed an issue with the AM and PM being overlapped with the number on the left when there are two numbers. If you grabbed this, please grab it again.

Edit #2: Fixed the smaller home backgrounds. The blood spatter was overlaying the time making it difficult to see and read.

BTW, with your skull wall, you should make a font that looks like it has blood dripping off the numbers Call it "Blood Skull" :icon_ devil:
