"Official" Beautiful Widgets Skinning Thread

Sneak Peak 3, here what it looks like in use so far:

Looks like someone beat me with another Carbon FIber skin name, I think I have to re-name mine now any good recommendations for a carbon fiber like name?

I was thinking, Just "carbon" or "C4RBON FIB3R" lol 928 suggested "carbon dreams" anyone else?

I have a suggestion for BW:

Allow us to edit the widget without getting rid of the old one and readding it to the home screen.

you don't have to get rid of the widget.

simply:
1.click on weather icon
2.press Soft Menu button
3. configure
4.scroll down to skins
5.either download a skin OR
6.downloaded skins.
7.pick your skin
8.press back button
9.save
10.???????
11. PROFIT

Ok I ditched the metallic lettering idea it was annoying the heck out of me as I couldn't get it to look quite right, it's a bone white now...I made it darker as the the droid's backlight tends to wash things out a little. If it looks too dark on your monitor it'll look a little lighter on the droid. Yea or neigh on the white? I think it looks more unified now.

Looks good..BUT, please send me the other one as I thought it was bad a$$! Carbon Fiber and "Aluminum" is always a good thing

OR.. maybe 2 versions CF1, CF2 ?

Can't wait to get my hands on this.....carbon fiber>droooool

So people like the metallic look? I guess I'll just make two versions, hopefully I can figure out what's irking me with the metallic version.

I thought about that and unfortunately that solid line is what gives it the illusion of being metallic, I think the placement is off. I'll try playing around with it.

Thanks!! Glad you like it hopefully I can quite being so picky and finicky, unfortunately I suffer from "perfectionist syndrome".

Here's the latest incarnation trying to fix the metallic txt. It's just a mock-up done in Photoshop replacing each number.png file takes too long for a true screenshot. So hopefully this will take less time.

Better? I think it looks more believable now?

Jon it looks Money... I have been checking out YouTube videos for Adobe Fireworks a program I have but have not used yet, seems like its much easier to do this type of work in than photoshop is.

Job that metallic is on point. I'm going to reinstall BW just for this. Looks awesome. Definitely keep it metallic.

Yeah I prefer Fireworks for those things.

the text looks great...but i would change the "checkerboard faux carbon fiber" to the real thing. It just has that whole I buy my carbon fiber parts at pep-boys look to it. I think you are way headed in the right direction. Also, think about the text, do you just want it sitting an some nice shiny carbon fiber, or do you want it to be placed inside indents in the CF mold to give it that sunken in "badge" style look.

Think of it more of a real application than just a skin and it will end up coming out awesome. I can tell you already have the PS skills needed to do it right!
