~OFFICIAL: FRG01B FroYo Issues/Solutions Thread~

Manually downloaded the update yesterday. Installed great.
Only issue so far is I can't play my wav. voicemail attachments from work. In 2.1 they worked fine.

I am not liking the delay in reloading home screen after docking. I have removed all widgets, replaced live wallpaper with just a plain wallpaper image and still a 5-10 second delay. Any way to speed it up?

Dont know if it will help anyone else with running slow etc.... dont know if it is coincidence or not, but after letting my phone charge all night and turning off the GPS my phone seems to be working fine. It has not froze up or been lagging at all so far ant its been since this morning.

Im having a issue with running apps. When my phone boots up and I pull up advanced task killer (or go in to settings and pull up running apps) it has A LOT of my apps running. Then i will kill them and no more than 1 min later ALL of them will be right back up there running again. I know some should come back up but ALL of them? Right after I kill them all? Its causing my phone to run low on mem and to run slow AND it has caused it to freeze and I have to pull the battery out and reboot.( ivehad to reboot several times today already) Any suggestions? Thanks guys!!
This was after I updated this morning to 2.2.
Motorola Droid 1 Stock

I am having similar problems as above. I have searched damn near every post on this and other forums and he was the only other having this issue. I did the manual update, installed, all was good. Also installed flash as well and seemed to work with the few flash sites i went to. Now the phone is constantly freezing and i am having to pull the battery just to get the screen to respond. I have tried deleting apps including the app killer i had. Cleared cache and other temp files. Still doing the same thing and freezing. Anyone have some input ?

Thanks ahead of time.

let the phone kill those running apps itself..i dont even use a TK and it runs really well.

Yeah, I just unistalled my task killer. Im not sure if thatll help but...
Ever since i Updated(FRG01B) my phone is running slower, my battery is draining like crazy and my wifi keeps going on and off and im having to pull the battery a lot because it FREEZES after charging on the dock AND its getting hot! I read in another post that verizon is rolling out with another OTA update (FRG22) VERY soon, like the next couple of days! So lets pray that will solve the issue.
Plus im kinda tempted to go ahead and root with easy root app because people are saying its working with 2.2! I just gotta figure out how to perform a back up AFTER or BEFORE the ROOT and how to do this. Im pretty familar with the terms but not really sure how to to a back up or nan droid back up. Do i need to connect it to my computer THEN do a back up or what? I know there is a million guides on how to do it but not sure if its the same when using the easy root app. ? Any suggestions?

Factory Data Reset. That will clean everything up and have your Droid running like brand new.

This update cannot make your Droid run slower. It has to be something else.

If you want to use easy root it will make a back up for you. Back ups are made before the root.

Hey thanks for getting back so quick!! A few questions though...
1)If i do a Factory data reset will I lose anything? Apps, texts,numbers, pics,etc?
2) Once I Root using EASY ROOT, do I need to hook my phone up to my computer and perform a nandroid back up?( I think I know how to do it now! YES!!)
3)Do you know when Verizon will be rolling out FRG22 OTA? Few days right?
4) Do you think this would be a better time than any to go ahead and root? Seeing that the FRG22 will be coming soon?

And I understand what youre saying about "an update shouldnt slow your phone down". Its just that ever since the update, my phones ben acting crazy but like you said its probaly something my phone is doing. opefully i fixed it.

Thanks for the reply and the info!!:)

I did the manual update and the only issues I'm noticing is that when I go to a link on the Dolphin HD browser there is a slight delay. It takes nearly a second to do anything. Also it pauses for a moment when I go out the screen lock.

Froyo - Calender not showing events/holidays?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about this ... but here we go anyways.

When I was using 2.1 (unrooted) I didn't have any problems with my Calender. I had 3 different calenders: My Google account that was associated with my phone, Facebook birthdays, and US Holidays. I would have the view set under monthly (30-31 days) and if I had an event or a holiday, there would be a colored mark next to each day indicating that there are events on that day without having the need to click on each day.

Now I am on FRG01B (rooted) and I'm using P3's standard voltage 7-step kernal (250/400/500/600/800/900/1000). Problem is, when I view the calender app in monthly view, it only has the dates in bold with no colors. If I go into agenda view, I can view the colors but half of my events aren't visible and the majority of holidays are gone as well.

I double-checked with the browser based version of Google Calender and everything is there: colors, holidays, and all. It was to my understanding that the calender is synced with the version in the cloud so it should all show up.

I really want to know if I'm the only one experiencing this issue or if it's a Froyo bug. Any help or info would be appreciated.
