help....trying this one more time

since update...if i put a contact shortcut on screen.....it will not let me select it and pull up options to text, call, facebook, ect. it gives a error saying" sorry android.process.acore has stopped. and force closes. i have took battery out several times. i dialed *228 and rebooted the factory stuff. all the apps and widgets work but this does not!! anybody have any ideas?? i used this feature alot!! and really want it back!!

The complaint is about having the same icon on the "desktop" and in the dockbar. Just want's the dockbar to go away (minus the home button). Fairly easy procedure but then again, I am using Launcher Pro. I don't think the stock launcher gives you that much freedom.

No wi-fi hotspot with manual update. Please help!

Please help with what?

You are correct. WiFi hotspot is not a feature of the official 2.2 update (manual and OTA). Yes, there were rumors of it, but the official release proved otherwise.

....hmmm unless, are you trying to to say you can't access a wifi connection after the update?
You meant to say "hotspot" as in your Droid will serve as the wifi hotspot for other devices to connect through, right?

:( That's odd! I don't know what that feature doesn't work for you? I just created similar contact shortcuts on my home screen this morning. It works fine for me. (non-rooted / manual update)

wow, i didnt know you could remote wipe... i shall research this now. :) i know my security software could, but that 3rd party software...

Yeah, exactly. If I could get rid of that 3rd-party software and just do it natively on the phone, that would make me happy.

But I can find no information, other than the FAQ telling me that it's possible. Please let me know if you find anything.

Thanks,
L.

I know you are frustrated over not getting an answer for this issue, but quite honestly you've done everything you can to try to fix it. You're not running a task killer or virus protection, correct?

Let me have someone from the rescue squad review this post and we will see if we can't get you fixed up.

Ehh we all complain about "new and unfamiliar" things. Then we play with them and we wondered how we did without them...lol :)

Another 2.2 update problem (music)

Before I go into this I think I also have the same problem as AlienTwo, but I'm not totally sure. Anyway ever since I got the update yesterday I have problem listening to my music through an audio jack (either via headphones or through another means) after I receive a text. Music plays fine, I get a text (with a sound alert), it then pauses the song (didn't before), I then try to unpause and I get no sound. Now I do get sound out of the phone when I unplug the jack, but when I plug it back in nothing. The only way to fix it is to turn the phone off and on, but same thing happens. Anybody else having this problem?
