OFFICIAL FRG22D OTA patch is here. DOWNLOAD NOW!

Uninstall Flash Beta?

Motorola Droid
Android Versions 2.2
Baseband Version C_01.43.01P
Kernal Version: 2.6.32.9-g874c292 android-build@apa26 #1
Build Number FRG22D

Stock Droid, unrooted. Flash Player 10.1 showed up in market and installed and working.

Did notice that it also did a little update on the default email client where it prompted me about re-affirming security with an Exchange server and warning me that the Exchange server can remotely erase e-mail on the droid (For the exchange side).

This may sound like a silly question but......

I have the Flash beta from the last update...do I need to uninstall that before doing this update or will the new Flash from the Market just overwrite it? Mine just has the forced original update with the beta Flash 10.1....no root.

Edit: Never mind...I went ahead and uninstalled it to be safe. All is updated and went smoother than butter. Flash showed up right away and is installed. The whole process took all of 2 minutes...reboot after the update was quick too. As I said...I am not root like you other fine folks though. I guess this means I'll never be able to root, right?

Turn on details and when you rename, just change up to the .zip

Are you sure you are looking at the SD card root directory?

Perhaps thisis what's screwing me up. I press the Up one level arrow in astro and I'm in the /sdcard but I don't have a root directory? Where do I copy the update file?

When you are on the SD card at / that is the root directory. Just place the file there.

That's what I was missing! Thanks a lot! Works great now! Slow but it's working. Thanks again!

Speed?

Hey guys, watch out. I'm not sure if its just me but after this update I'm getting HORRIBLE 3g speeds like 100kbps each way.

I didn't do the speed test on the original update but my phone is still just as quick as it was before. I wish I had done this before I did the 1st Froyo update just to see if there were any changes. I guess this is my baseline now lol. Has yours improved yet? :)

the baseband was updated for FRG01B, but not for FRG22D, so I don't think it should have any effect... but who knows!

Horrible? It's the middle of the day during an update rollout for more than one phone, at the end of the week, and you think 100K is horrible?

Buddy, I WISH I had your problem.

Is anyone actually getting this update OTA yet?

Sorry if this is not the right thread within which to ask that question!

I guess I'd feel better about installing this patch if VZW was already implementing this exact version OTA. I'll wait. Not having Flash is not too difficult for me.

I am hopeful that this patch will address some of the 2.2 issue I've experienced, like laggy movement between home screens (gotta swipe sooooo slow!). Here's hope'in.

after manually downloading the update, any lag issues that i noticed seems to be gone. Whether it was do to the update im not sure since it was just suppose to enable flash and have some security update, but i have had no problem

What???

I thought you downloaded it from Google's site just like everyone else...

Did you really get it by radio Over The Air from Verizon's server??? Do you really know anyone who has received this patch Over The Air from Verizon's server?

Since it's available on Google's site I agree it's not a leak. But has anyone received any FRG22D as a real Over The Air patch from Verizon's servers yet?

If so, I'd really like to see some names, dates, times, and see the actual received and signed OTA zip files.

Just to be explicitly clear here, no one on Web has reported receiving this as an actual phone-received Over The Air upgrade from Verizon's server yet.

Btw, if this patch comes over in the form of all the other OTAs, SPR and CWR will both prevent it from being loaded.

In this case we can say absolutely because this patch came from the OTA. there is no other way we could have obtained it, as it's not a leak.

Now we know for a fact that the OTA's started yesterday but just like any other distribution this is going to take some time starting slowly at first and picking up steam as we go along.

I'm kind of curious to see if the update hit's my rooted Droid. I tried to install the manual one and SPRecovery said no way.

Same here...the screen lag is gone. However, I just use the "dots" to bounce from screen to screen now. I dig being able to tap the cabinet to get it to open too.

Nice not to have to wait for OTA......

Once again, thanks to the mods and others. Update installed without issue, flash is visible in the market. I can play with my browsers over the weekend.
