OFFICIAL FRG22D OTA patch is here. DOWNLOAD NOW!

IMHO the best thing if you are having any kind of problems is to manually install the master file (your link worked just fine for me, jntdroid -- thanks again). It's a full install, and has been better for me and others than the OTA patch anyway.

Thanks. Just installed the full OS and it went without a hitch.

I did not see a link to the FRG22D Master OTA file on the google servers so I thought I'd drop it here:

https://android.clients.google.com/...voles/a5e329b00288.signed-voles-ota-50454.zip

Enjoy.

Thanks for that! I never could figure it out straight from the servers, but glad to see the files match up. I added your link to my post (#442). Maybe CK will add your link to the OP instead of mine now, since yours links to the Google server.

Nevermind... can't edit the posts since this is a News thread. Regardless, CK should add your link to the OP now instead of mine! :)

Just reviewed and build.prop says this is FRG01B, NOT FRG22D!!

Not sure what you're looking at, but I just looked at the same file, and it says FRG22D.

You're right -- Sorry about that, I was looking at the FRG01B zip by mistake which I also had downloaded the same folder!

I understand completely... I recently did some "spring cleaning" of my Droid stuff because I had .zip files all over the place with funky names that were hard to keep up with.

Hello, I got the update here in Mass this morning...too bad it seems as if it did not install???

I got the prompt for the update and hit ok or what ever then showed the triangle with exclamation point and phone (much like when I try to manually install now) My mistake may have been(??) turning off the phone after seeing this for 15 minutes with no indication of any sort of progress.

Earlier today I read about the update a little. This evening I have been going through this very informative(but looong) thread trying to manually install the download on the OP (and even tried the already named properly link on page 5 (I think)

I keep getting a E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted

I have done some google searches, but the status 7 error results I come up with for Android are people did not have the correct current software for what they were trying to do(or so it seemed?)

Any chance the OTA update gets pushed out again to phones that are missing this?

Nothing in the "system updates" section under "about phone"

Droid 1
Running all OTA:
Android 2.2
Build Number FRG01B

HELP! :icon_ cry:

The update patch just attempted again and seems to have stopped again? Now it is showing the black screen, exclamation point, and mobile phone. I take it this means it is not updating? :)

I may have to try the master file manual install.

If you do decide to manually update, I'd suggest using the full install version from Google's website ( https://android.clients.google.com/...voles/a5e329b00288.signed-voles-ota-50454.zip ) instead of the OP's patch version...

Not that there's anything wrong with the patch version, but since the full version is available and because it is a full install, it will more likely correct any issues that you're dealing with.

If you're not sure, as long as you're not rooted, you could take your phone to your local VZW store and have them fix it for you.

Good luck with this!

I did the full update on the previous page and all good now :icon_ banana:

Hey,

I haven't updated to frg22d since I've seen no reason to updating it to frg01b. So for those that have updated to 22d what is the official size for Adobe Flash installed from the market? I've heard that it can be move to SD? Mine is only 12.5MB and still current with Ver. 10.1.92.8. It just can't be moved to SD that's why I'm holding on to 01B.

From the Market, Flash is 12.52mb and is the same version. Unrooted, it can't be moved to the sd card.

Thanks for the confirmation... But what the heck?? Then What is so special about it...? I'll stick with FRG01B stock ROM but rooted. Since the size is the same and can't be move to sd card either. Then the claimed that frg22d's flash version will be smaller and not going to be saved in the phone is a hoax?

I didn't hear about a size difference or where it would be stored. The only good thing about getting it from the Market would be if there's an update, it's easier to see.

FYI, besides the kernel, the apps below were patched in FRG01B->FRG22D. Not sure exactly what has changed in each one, but they are definately updated as part of the OTA patch...

Code:
/system/app/Contacts.apk
/system/app/EmailGoogle.apk
/system/app/Maps.apk
/system/app/Settings.apk
/system/app/SetupWizard.apk
