So is this a valid and working copy of the update? I see people posting problems with flash.

it's straight from google's servers, and besides the flash thing, mine has been working perfectly... not sure if flash was supposed to be included or simply allowed?

flash is always going to be a separate download. i guess the market still hasn't been made 2.2 aware yet? as other people have mentioned that some programs are still missing. i always check by going to the verizon tab and seeing if skype is there.

So this is the same Froyo 2.2 that I'd receive OTA? This works the same as how the 2.1 update worked... right? I updated to 2.1 this way and wanted to know if it's the same.

Manual Update worked perfectly! Amazing how much of a difference there is in performance between 2.1 and 2.2! Now we just have to wait for Flash to surface! Thank you to all who made this happen!

the market issues are the market seeing your phone as 2.2, and therefore excluding certain apps... some roms have the fix for this built into them which is why you might not have the issue... i would think, with 2.2 officially coming out this week, that this shouldn't be a problem much longer, but it could also depend on the devs for the apps

Once you get the zip on your phone what do you do?

make sure it's on the root of your sdcard, rename it to just update.zip, boot up holding down 'x', when you see the exclamation point, hold down volume-up and hit the camera button, the stock recovery menu should pop up, use the d-pad to move/select, and choose "apply sdcard:update.zip"

that's all assuming you're currently running stock
