I'm very frustrated, I am able to get 2.2 working on my Droid, but certain things will not work like my Wifi (which I need) and my moto torch (which i can live without). Another strange thing that also happened is that when my advanced task killer comes up it will not kill itself, which it used to do. I know some other people have said they were having similar issues but I never saw anyone who was able to fix the issue. I began installing the Bungless Beast ROM and I know the wifi worked then, it seemed to stop working when I went to Jrummy's rom, although I highly doubt that is the problem. I feel like what I have to do is start from scratch and completely wipe everything, go back to stock 2.1, re-root and re-install 2.2, but I don't want to delete the wrong things. Can anyone point me in the correct direction to do that, or if there is an easier fix (some have suggested a different kernel) that would be much appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Place the rom in the root of your sdcard with the following name

update.zip

Reboot into recovery mode. Holding power and the 'x' button.

Once you get into the SBRecovery mode scroll down to something that say along the lines of
"Flash, to factory restore" something like that. Once that is done, clear the cache, then apply the update. This will start you fresh with the rom you have loaded on the sdcard.

question how do i get the stock froyo launcher in Froyo Kangerade V1.0 if wanted to go to that

and i went to this briefly a few days ago but didnt stay cause i didnt wanna play around with it then but when i did i had a problem with maps it was on my phone but in the market it was saying it wasnt and couldnt reinstall it

Im currently on froyo Kangerade adn am having problems with the market.
First of all, ADW launcher says it is downloading (update) but shows no progress, every time I try to cancel the download the market FCs.
I also cant download new apps, it says I dont have room for them, which is simply not true because I was able to delete a few apps, freeing up even more space.

EDIT: The same message pops up when I try to update apps
I have 54 MB free on my phone... the apps im trying to install or update are smaller than this.

I installed Kangerade on my brothers phone. He is now having problems with the app world war. Anyone else having that problem. All the screens keep piling up on on another. Is there any fix for this? Any help appreciated. thanks

Can't launch contacts from desktop folder

JRummy,

On Kangerade, I cannot launch a contact from within a folder on your Kangerade ROM. This worked for me in 2.1.

When I click on a contact from within a folder, I get a message that the process android.process.acore has unexpectedly stopped.

Is this an issue with your ROM, or with the 2.2 leak in general?

Ever since switching to Kangerade (I have tried Cyan and Red....and wiped data and cache) I have had the same problem both times. First, I like to create folders that contain direct dial and direct message shortcuts (takes forever to set up)....well on kangerade.....shortly after setting said folders up, everything disappears from the folder.....it just becomes an empty folder. Also, widgets seem to disappear from my screens as well. Mainly the Youtube widget.

Just open the Terminal Emulator and run the script "launcher" (No quotes)
That's it!

This is my first time rooting and messing with my phone I have a lot to learn but so far I absolutely love this rom its amazing I haven't run into any real issues yet but I haven't had alot of time to play around with it. I do have a couple questions.

I am running the Kangerade V 1.0 and I can't seem to find the wifi tethering option, am I missing something or do I need to download this?

I use beautiful widgets, first app I paid for and Up until recently was using Home++ home replacement and I really love the ability to hide the notification bar gives a nice clean look to the home pages. I found the option to hid the notification bar and even a shortcut for the home soft key to hide and unhide it. Only problem is when I hold the home button to bring up recently used apps it also toggles the notification bar, which is kind of annoying. Is their anyway you can shortcut it to a different key or create a shortcut I can drop on a home screen or something( I use the most recent program thing all the time)?

Is there a way to change app icons(that I get from the market) to match the blue theme I'm using?

If you made it this far your awesome so lastly there any posts you can recommend for a rooting noob? I been digging through the forums learning a lot but anything you can suggest would be helpful.

I just figured this out by accident cause when I saw your post I was going to mess with it and sports tap was where the browser was .

Anyhoot, open up your launcher find dolphin long press the icon til your back on your home screens and drag it down to where the current browser short cut is, you will see it the currently placed icon glow, release the dolphin icon and it should replace the browser shortcut

an even easier method is opening up the news and weather app and clicking on any article. this should bring up something that asks which browser to use and just click remember and hit dolphin browser

Hello noob again, I just had my first issue that made me take the easy way out, which for a guy who has no idea what hes doing is to go ahead and reinstall the rom lol. So I wanted to to play around with the stock launcher, so I dled a terminal emulator typed it in and didnt like the stock launcher compared to awd so I went back into the terminal to switch it back, unfortunately when i went to switch back I got some error message something to the effect of, "oops something went wrong make sure you have jrummy folder on the root of your sdcard" tried to reboot and it just got stuck at the boot animation so I reinstalled the rom. Anyone else have this issue? Was there something else I should have tried?

Is there a proper way to exit the terminal? I just finished setting up everything the way I liked it too lol oh well.

Android Market & update.

Hi Jrummy,

I have problems with the market since i installed the kangerade FROYO. It is painfully slow. I used to be on cyanogen and it worked fine. I wiped data and everything. I have fixed the permissions but it still runs so slow that i have stopped updating because it takes 4 or 5 minutes.

The second thing is that when i go into my rom manager, it says your kangerade is not setup for receiving OTA and i should email the rom manager. can you take a look?
