Ok I am getting frustrated, it is probably something real stupid I missing.
I complete the following instruction to the letter, when I get to #10 my phone starts to go through the motions but stops and says E:cant open /sdcard/update.zip
(no such file or directory) installation aborted. What am I doing wrong? When I download the zip file I save it not open it right? Then I rename it update.zip. Then I copy it to the root of my sdcard. Do I need to load a zip program to my phone so it can unzip it? Please HELP.

3. mount Droid to computer
4. copy file from computer to root of sdcard
5. unmount card from computer
6. hold X while rebooting until SPRecovery screen comes up
7. wipe data factory reset
8. install
9. allow update.zip
10. install /sdcard/update.zip (depreciated)

in some cases with windows you just need to name the file update(windows 7 and vista that I know of) if you type update.zip when you click rename you actually renamed it update.zip.zip if you right click on the file and go to properties then click the details tab you will get the actual name of the file

Froyo 2.2 802.1x EAP wifi authentication

I love JRummy's ROMs, they are top notch, but I was wondering if anybody has any ideas about this issue I'm seeing (not just in his ROM but any 2.2 ROM).

I am unable to connect to wifi at work which uses 802.1x Enterprise security. When I loaded up Kangerade and tried to connect to my work's wifi it just loops between "scanning..., connecting..., disconnected, disabled".

I believe it has something to do with the froyo's 802.1x security type being 802.1x EAP rather than 802.1x Enterprise. I also see a difference during setup, in 2.2 the CA and User certificates are "(unspecified)" where as in 2.1 they were "N/A".

I've tried using different kernels as well from stock 2.2 to p3droids to chevy's lv without any difference in the outcome.

I am able to connect to wifi at home using WPA2 but again connecting to 802.1x EAP does not work.

Anybody have any insight on these issues??

Is there any reason why I can't delete email? I've got the goodies on my folder and I'm running the new 1.1 rom but the email won't go I guess I can use adb but I thought the scripts were for that purpose any help would be appreciated..

Stuck at the load screen (dancing banana)

Had Rummy's Kangerade working just fine, but to experiment I tried to download a new ROM and went with smoked glass. Went through the process and keep getting stuck at the load screen, dancing banana.

I was able to get back into recovery, wiped data and cache, but I'm still getting stuck at the load screen.

Any suggestions?

Any reason why apps that normally don't show up in the app drawer (specifically Launcher Pro and QuickDesk) are showing up with this ROM? I've tried multiple launchers and it's happening in all of them. I just don't know what tells a launcher not do display an icon for a particular app in the drawer.

Not sure if it's anything but I have noticed whenever my sd card is being backed up it says "sd-ext not found". It doesn't interfere with my installations but I was just wondering what it meant.

Tonight i ran a script for a live wallpaper. It changed it to one. I then decided i wanted to try a different one but when I selected it the script message indicated it had been changed but the WP did not change. I rebooted my phone to make sure that wouldnt fix it but still no luck. I decided I wanted the nural LWP back so I went into the wallpaper option from the home screen and now several of them are missing.

Any idea why #1 the change wallpaper script isnt changing the wallpaper. and #2 where the live wallpaper from the home screen option went?

All it means is that if you created a partition on your SD card for Apps2SD (I've never done it; I gather that is what you did prior to Froyo to get Apps2SD to work), it would be called sd-ext and it would be backed up with the rest of the ROM. Since you don't have it, it just skips it in the backup.

I really really love Kangerage 1.0. I mean looooove it. I tried 1.1, and just wasn't as happy. 1.0 never FC's and runs without a hitch for me, so I figure why change. My only issue is the way that Wi-Fi doesn't work. I couldn't find a fix when I looked for one. That doesn't mean there isn't one that was discussed in depth, it just means I can't work the forum very well. Is there a way to keep Wi-Fi on. It's certainly not a deal breaker for me since I've been running this for a couple of weeks with no problems, but it would be nice to have on occasion. Any help is appreciated.

Anyone else having issues with Kangerade v1.1...P3droids 250-900 Kernel?

My processor temp according to setcpu was at a constant 39C and 39F all morning ( I know not possible)...I did a battery pull and now my temp is both -40C and -40F at the same time.

Froyo kernels are not able to read processor temps yet. SetCPU is only reporting the battery temp. This is straight from P3's mouth.
