Official Homerun Battle 3D challenge thread

Geez-- speaking of the LUCK factor...i just played a 59275 ranked guy...

I got four SKULL BALLS in a row. The fourth was a STEEL ball (meaning don't swing).

Then, I got a normal ball, then two more skull balls. I was luckily able to get them all over the fence (minus the steel ball) and beat him. And the ultimate effect it had? He thought I sucked, so I unintentionally hustled him. He played me four more times, and I beat him five in a row.

I always make backup, i just figured it out, actually quite easy. All I needed was "root explorer". I'll explain for anyone who needs to get their gear back.
1. Install root explorer
2. Load up Nanroid backup that has your data and all your gear.
3. Open root explorer, go to data folder, again data folder, then open "com.com2us.HB3D ....long press "jesus.dat" and copy
4. Once you copy go back 3 times, now go under sd card and paste. Now jesus.dat should be inside your sd card to access.
5. Load up your desired backup or rom
6. Once new rom is loaded, run root explorer and go to sd card, copy jesus.dat inside sd card folder.
7. Now navigate to data folder, data folder, com.com2us.HB3D, delete the existing jesus.dat and paste your old jesus.dat
8. Run HR Battle 3D, i logged in to match up and i had all my gear and rankings.

Hopefully this helps some people. Now time to beat some people

ty halo your the man ... worked perfectly.. just flashed my new ROM (ud7) and all my stuff is there! worked flawlessly thanks for the outline

That is the best info i have heard since 2 rom loads ago.. thankfully i was making nandroid backups.. will do my jesus.dat file from now on.. thanks again..

Thats a very interesting point you made there with the gear setup. My thinking was get as much contact points as possible so your chances of you missing the ball and getting a strike will diminish...

The #4 guy really pissed me off. My gear I have

1) The blue bat (sky?)
2) All my helmet, uniform, shoes, gloves is the last option you can buy. It looks like a knights armor.

What do you think is the best combo to use? Some people I see use the Blue Thunder uniform.

Though most top guys use the basic which I cannot fathom using because for me it doesnt have enough kick to muscle the homerun out unless you have some inhuman hand-eye coordination and can time every pitch. Now THAT is hard..

I go all red-- reason is, sometimes with blue (or Knights) a slight mi**** I'd miss a homer that I wouldn't miss with Red. Also, if you're gonna blast them into oblivion, you may as well make sure it's a monster shot (which is less likely with the blues/knights). I used to use all blue, but I switched when I played an ARCADE match with all reds and completely obliterated my record (went from under 50,000 to about 67,000).

But, if you're better at contact, by all means, go all drabs with a nice bat and you'll keep winning :) But it's risky.

This situation you mentioned would piss me off where I would have to put the phone down or I might fling it against the wall.

Also do you even bother to try get the cycle? It takes too long cuz the batter has to call the shots.. For me it is hard to aim to the right...

I have noticed the really good players bank on this technique. I just like to SMASH the ball.dancedroid

Exactly -- if you cycle, the guy calls out the field -- that take up time. I've found guys that hit continuous short homers are at an advantage. Imagine you are cycling, calling out the field, get a special ball, and hit a monster shot --the other guy just hit two homers worth 7 x + 8 x and you've scored only 6x + 500 (and another 200 or 300 if you monster or crash) :) Then what happens if you miss your field? Or foul one off aiming to right or left? You've wasted time and got the same kind of homer the other guy got.

I played another game a couple days ago -- I was perfect -- crash to one field, crash to another, crashed cycle -- then I was hitting bullseyes -- I still lost. And I'm pretty sure the other guy was just hitting homers...otherwise you'd assume I'd be right with him. I could be wrong -- I don't PIP because it slows down (makes choppy) my graphics. Pretty sure he didn't 2x, either.

Still, the most important thing is to hit continuous homers.

My basic strategy -- I try to hit one to left field right away, then work center field until I miss. Then cycle and hope to hit bullseyes to finish it out.

Thats a very interesting point you made there with the gear setup. My thinking was get as much contact points as possible so your chances of you missing the ball and getting a strike will diminish...

Red gear already has WAY more contact than standard unis -- at 3000, your contact is already good enough you aren't gonna miss much (unless you full out misread a pitch, which would mean you miss with any bat).

So yeah, I'd take advantage of the slight mi****s going further, rather than expecting the Knight gear will help you hit a ball you'd otherwise completely miss.

Have you noticed or atleast from what I have seen, virtually all the top 100 players have little to no upgrades. So I am figuring because they mastered the timing of the swing + factor in shortest amount of time to reach a homerun makes this the unbeatable combo compared to guys who are totally geared up?

Yes, that's what I assume, too.

Also, you'll see the higher up players have a lot more win points between ranks...it's a lob-sided bell curve. Very few great players, so more points between. You'll start winning games and not go up a single rank as you reach the 200s, while if you win when you're around 100,000, you can go up hundreds of ranks.

They also have dummy ranks -- you'll see a big rank jump when you hit 2500 win points and win just one more...or conversely, if you're over 2500 and lose one, you'll go down like 60 ranks. That's because they put in probably 50 dummy players (you don't actually play them, they're just entries in the rankings). There are also a few dummy entries in the ARCADE and CLASSIC rankings. They are the #1-#3 or something. Nobody has come close to those guys.

With out having to read through almost 30 pages of this thread. I wanted to know how to get all my gold balls and purchased items back after doing a new install of the game. I reloaded it and it only gave me about a 4th of the gold balls I had and none of the equipment i had already purchased.

EDIT: Found what I was looking for three or four posts back....Thx

I might be thinking the wrong way but I believe there has to be a few dummies in the top ten scores in Matchup.

I am saying to myself how on earth did a person get to almost 23,000 win points. Even reaching 15,000+ win points looks almost unattainable..

I think the MATCHUP stuff is legit aside from dummies at other tiers. I think the 2500's are the top, but there may be some at 5,000 -- no idea, haven't been there :)

But check out the leaders in ARCADE and CLASSIC.

All entries in RED I think are fake. How could you possibly have scores THAT high be one point different in both Arcade and Classic, and all five of those guys equal at the top :)

ARCADE:

SSONGKONG; 262397
ITSMINE: 253681 (one point diff)
NINJITSU: 253680 (one point diff)
17171771: 243448
MMMJUNKI: 173709
ONESHOT1: 163231

CLASSIC:

PERFECTKMJ: 1901
SSONGKONG 1782
ITSMINE: 1754 (same score)
NINJITSU: 1754
(same score)
17171771:1425
ONE SHOT1: 1262

I think the match-up guys with like 22000 win points have two phones and just match-up the phones so his main guy wins every single time. I have been playing this game for 3 months now, mind you not an incredible amount, and I am at 1900 win points. To be at 22000 you would literally have to play all day everyday just about. I just can't see anyway possible to be that high legitimately. 10000 or even a bit higher could be possible I guess but much higher than that, no way!

You have to remember -- there are 6.5 billion people in this world. If you know gamers, you know one of those 6.5 billions people are willing to wake up, eat food in bed half naked, and play the game with every breath they have as someone else supports them. I have no problem believing the guy at 22,000 got there fair and square. That said, I have no problem believing they did sign up with two accounts and just have the other guy quit over and over and over so it took no time to rack up points.

By the way, the developer says they are taking measures to eliminate cheaters. Should be pretty simple to write into their program algorithm. If someone keeps linking up with another player and they just quit over and over, eliminate said player.

Still, I've played quite a bit, and I can tell you there are plenty of pros out there that really can beat you any time they want.

Finally climbed back to 234 -- I was at 280 (exactly 2500 win points), won a single +3 contest, and went up to 234. That shows you probably 40 or so 2500 dummy entries.

LOL, that is so true... I really wonder how the top five people look like . :icon_eek:

Do you think there is anyway to compete with those top 20 guys with all the gear we have on ? Like we discussed we believe that having awesome timing + shortest distance to a homer will ultimately lead you to victory each and every time compared to us blasting the ball to oblivion.

It is so boring having 0 power. I tried that crap and it just sucks.

Also, that steel ball, correct me if I am wrong, the opponent has to hit that rainbow ball as a homer and your next pitch is a steel ball (ball that when you hit it goes 100 feet)?

Haha, indeed, I knew a kid that anytime a new 360 game came out he wanted he would take a week off work and play it non-stop.
