Official Homerun Battle 3D challenge thread

how do i back up the game so i dont lose everything again

last time i backed up with titanium and lost it all.. said something about parcels

It's to bad there is no option to sell your stuff back in the store and get something different. I am not sure if I will ever get enough GB built back up to rebuy some of the more expensive items or not. I went with power, but now I am trying to redo my guy with contact.

Play matchups and you'll earn GB's fast.

I saw on my brother-in-laws Itouch, they have FULL UNIFORM options. For like 10,000 you can get a DeMarini full uniform and it give you UBER power and UBER contact (full 100's for both). I assume they don't let you use those in matchups, however...or the droid and iphone users have to play in different networks.

Make a weekly backup of your "jesus.dat" file (in the HR Battle subfolders) -- put it on your SD card or something.

ty for the reply..would I find the jesus.dat on the sd card or on the phone?

I've moved the game to the sd card (apps2sd)

edit-never mind found it on root explorer

I always make backup, i just figured it out, actually quite easy. All I needed was "root explorer". I'll explain for anyone who needs to get their gear back.
1. Install root explorer
2. Load up Nanroid backup that has your data and all your gear.
3. Open root explorer, go to data folder, again data folder, then open "com.com2us.HB3D ....long press "jesus.dat" and copy
4. Once you copy go back 3 times, now go under sd card and paste. Now jesus.dat should be inside your sd card to access.
5. Load up your desired backup or rom
6. Once new rom is loaded, run root explorer and go to sd card, copy jesus.dat inside sd card folder.
7. Now navigate to data folder, data folder, com.com2us.HB3D, delete the existing jesus.dat and paste your old jesus.dat
8. Run HR Battle 3D, i logged in to match up and i had all my gear and rankings.

Hopefully this helps some people. Now time to beat some people

ty halo your the man ... worked perfectly.. just flashed my new ROM (ud7) and all my stuff is there! worked flawlessly thanks for the outline

I finally broke 200 !!!

They have some "dummy" entries in the ranking system, if you didn't already know. They claim to have over 1,000,000 contestants...they don't even have that # of downloads.

When you hit 2500 win points, you will see a sudden jump (currently) from about 270 rank to 220 rank, meaning they had 50 dummy entries right at 2500 win points. I'm sure they have many others at other levels.

If you look at the leaderboard, the #20th ranked player has about 2.5 times more win points that 2500...those guys are real, and you'll never catch up to them :)

I don't know how the top level people in this game (master/legend) use the standard bats, uniform, shoes, gloves and helmet yet still manages to kick my ass everytime. I tried going back to everything standard and its hard to even get "crash".

I'm hovering at 3000 .

It's because they don't suffer the delays. They pop out homers over and over and over and get the HR time 'x' bonuses quicker than you do.

I can't switch back either, because then I keep missing homers. I have to use the better stuff. It results in losing against the really good players here and there, because when you keep hitting monster shots the ball is in the air WAY WAY too long.

What's more infuriating for me in this game is when you get disconnected for no good reason and end up losing a game you were leading by a mile. This seems to happen a lot on the Droid--or when you get interrupted by a phone call!!! Killer!!

BTW, after breaking 200, I ran a streak of about 6 losses to crappy players for this exact reason, and I'm back around 350 now.

Yes what you said makes total sense.

Though the only solution is use the better gear and AIM at the "crash" and try to avoid the long shots that hits nothing ?

Also one thing that PISSES THE HELL OUT OF ME is sometimes when I win a matchup, I see MINUS points on my side !? I am not even challenging a much lower opponent . Like my rank is 3000 and his is 9000. That totally pissed me off.

I swear I played this guy named Freeminder ranked #4, this guy NEVER misses ANYTHING. I am beginning to wonder if this is a real person and not a robot.... I played him 10 x and I am 0 for 10. All 10 games this dude NEVER missed, NEVER fouled, NEVER got just a hit..

Somethings not right.....

Wow, I'm amazed a #4 (master) played you. I've only played one once--he must've gotten a STEEL BALL and ruined his streak, cause I beat him (I'll call it luck).

When you win and see MINUS points, it's because you either disconnected or ended your last game early. When you do this, your rank isn't adjusted until the next time you play. So, even if you won and you should've earned points, it takes the difference, which could result in showing a MINUS score. I've had this happen several times when I get a phone call or am otherwise disconnected and then go back and play.

My guess is, if you are on an I-Touch and you don't get these kind of disturbances (phone calls and disconnect through 3G) you don't have to worry about these frustrations. Also, if you have any program POLLING (like email) you can get pitches that skip, etc, and it can really screw you up.

As far as crashing instead of hitting Monster Shots -- the MAIN way to win is just to hit consecutive homers. When you face really good players, you might lose, but it's still the best way. So, even if you hit monster shots, it's not as bad as simply missing one :) Just hit homers, as many as you can, as fast as you can. Of course, if you can put together some crashes great.

I played a game two days ago -- the guy was ranked way high, like in the 30,000 -- I hit ever homer I had a chance to, and it was some sort of bonus every time, too -- he DESTROYED me, and from what I could tell, he never had a 2x. Sometimes I assume these guys have lost their data files and are getting back on with a new user name and tearing it up.

I think they should make three changes to their system:

1) If you get a phone call, it should recognize it and not punish you as a loss.

2) If you beat a low ranked player 3x times, you should get a bonus 5 win points. I understand you are most likely a better player, but getting -17 on a single loss is a huge risk, especially when a random STEEL BALL can ruin any given game. The chances of winning 1 out of 5 games against a better player are still pretty high, because of random bonuses, pitch sequences, and SKULL balls (steel balls, particularly). A low rank player should be discouraged from repeatedly playing those odds. Even if they lost three in a row, they would only lose 9 + 5 = 14, when a high ranked player loses 14 right off the bat. You have to beat a sucky player 6 times in a row to make up for one loss!!!

3) Along with the rank and winpoints, they should report the average # of pitches a player wins with. Then if you see a 30,000 player and they win in 9.0 pitches per game, you know they are a sleeper :)

One other complaint I have. If you hit START...and the other guy waits, then hit start right as you exit, you are credited with a loss. This is BS. You should not be punished for quitting, IMO, until the first pitch goes out. I've been disconnected a few times before the game ever started, and it's lame to get punished for that.

The #4 guy really pissed me off. My gear I have

1) The blue bat (sky?)
2) All my helmet, uniform, shoes, gloves is the last option you can buy. It looks like a knights armor.

What do you think is the best combo to use? Some people I see use the Blue Thunder uniform.

Though most top guys use the basic which I cannot fathom using because for me it doesnt have enough kick to muscle the homerun out unless you have some inhuman hand-eye coordination and can time every pitch. Now THAT is hard..

Also do you even bother to try get the cycle? It takes too long cuz the batter has to call the shots.. For me it is hard to aim to the right...

I have noticed the really good players bank on this technique. I just like to SMASH the ball.dancedroid

I go all red-- reason is, sometimes with blue (or Knights) a slight mi**** I'd miss a homer that I wouldn't miss with Red. Also, if you're gonna blast them into oblivion, you may as well make sure it's a monster shot (which is less likely with the blues/knights). I used to use all blue, but I switched when I played an ARCADE match with all reds and completely obliterated my record (went from under 50,000 to about 67,000).

But, if you're better at contact, by all means, go all drabs with a nice bat and you'll keep winning :) But it's risky.

Exactly -- if you cycle, the guy calls out the field -- that take up time. I've found guys that hit continuous short homers are at an advantage. Imagine you are cycling, calling out the field, get a special ball, and hit a monster shot --the other guy just hit two homers worth 7 x + 8 x and you've scored only 6x + 500 (and another 200 or 300 if you monster or crash) :) Then what happens if you miss your field? Or foul one off aiming to right or left? You've wasted time and got the same kind of homer the other guy got.

I played another game a couple days ago -- I was perfect -- crash to one field, crash to another, crashed cycle -- then I was hitting bullseyes -- I still lost. And I'm pretty sure the other guy was just hitting homers...otherwise you'd assume I'd be right with him. I could be wrong -- I don't PIP because it slows down (makes choppy) my graphics. Pretty sure he didn't 2x, either.

Still, the most important thing is to hit continuous homers.

My basic strategy -- I try to hit one to left field right away, then work center field until I miss. Then cycle and hope to hit bullseyes to finish it out.
