Not sure if anyone else has seen this, I just updated to 6.2 and now it always forces closes when I go to change the default keyboard. I went to get swype working and just getting to the point to turn it on will not work due to the force close.

Ive found if you turn swype on before you turn the default keyboard off you should be straight. You may need to start from scratch to get back ito the keyboard settings

1) go into language/keyboard settings
2) turn swype on
3) turn keyboard off

+1 I think this has been an issue on all Miui ROMs thus far. You have to select the keyboard you are switching to before you unselect the one you no longer want to use.

I also miss the black keyboard that was included with v5.

Ive asked before but i think it got buried a long while ago.

Is there anyway to set the enter button to send a text? I dont see the option anywhere. Ill push enter thinking it sent when it didnt. Force of habit:icon_evil:

anyone here have the issue of opening the keyboard, and it taking forever to respond? i think it attempts to redraw in landscape even tho it cant, and it just takes a long time before its usable again.

did the local.prop hack, no problems in portrait.

Opening the physical keyboard causes the Launcher to FC. It takes that long to be usable again because it's restarting. Simple fix, don't open the keyboard while on your home screens.

Running 6.2, it's smooth as silk, I love it!! No real issues worth complaining about in any sense. Big ups to Metick and Zen and the whole team for bringing us such prompt updates!!!

thanks for the quick response, the launcher is cool, but that problem bugs me enough to just stay with launcher pro plus, MIUI with LPP seems like a good combo. probably will stay with this setup until gingerbread if we get it.




BTW anyone looking for a similar folder implementation, try Folder Organizer, love this app and it works very well.

ahh, so one more little bug (nothing serious, just another texting issue)

when texting in portrait mode (with the touch keyboard, not the physical keyboard) the keyboard takes up your entire screen, WELL, when you press "send" on the keyboard, it doesnt send it just takes you directly back to the preview of the text, where you THEN have to press send for an SMS or MMS to send. not really too big a problem but like someone else said...i sit for (in this case all night lol) a while and think ive sent the text but in fact i havent sent it at all

You must have portrait and landscape mixed up. The on-screen keyboard doesn't even take half the screen.

Portrait = Right side up
Landscape = Sideways

And I might be wrong, but I don't think I've ever used a ROM that used the enter key as send; for me enter is always "next line" or "close on-screen keyboard".

sorry sorry sorry! i did mean landscape, idk why i said portrait.
but yes that happens when im in landscape with the "send" button not sure why.

and i personally never had the option to set "enter" key as send button on a stock SMS app. the only app that i used that had that option was Handcent, maaybbeeee Chomp but i dont remember.

If you pick accuweather it doesn't seem to work. But the Google selection works fine for me.

Just loaded 6.2. Will run it all day and hope its as stable as 6.1 was for me.

Just for general information, I am not having any issues with the keyboard being slid open in text apps. It switches to landscape with no issues and is nearly instantaneous. I am also not getting ANY FCs on Keyboard settings...

Perhaps try reinstalling the Rom?
