Old D1-MIUI-0.12.24.0

Well, I have to say as an MIUI noob, I just don't get it. I've heard people praising this ROM for awhile now. And this is the 2nd time I've attempted to use it. The first time I had tons of problems with FC's and nothing seeming to work right. This time it certainly appears to be a lot better in that respect. But I just can't get it set up like I want.

I understand that there isn't an "app drawer" like most launchers, so I went ahead and created some folders. But why is it that some apps' icons seem to multiply and others don't? Am I the only one with this issue or is this something I'm doing wrong? For example, if I want to move one of my apps into a folder, it will go into the folder but also remain on the home screen. So now there's two of the same icon for this app in different places. If I try once again to move it into the folder, I now have two of the same icons inside the folder and one outside the folder. I spent an hour trying to clean this up and I've now given up. I downloaded a different launcher (Zeam) and now things seem to work fine, but it seems I've got no reason to use MIUI now that my launcher is the same as with any other ROM. What am I doing wrong?

As far as the app drawer is concerned, the only reason, IMO, people love the launcher for the ability to have infinite screens. Otherwise the MIUI home is not the main reason for running the rom. If you load it up properly like many have, you'll notice a 80-90% over haul in the UI. That is the main reason for running it. New features, easy theming on the go, and stable. If your having FC's, I would try flashing clean. The FC's seem to not be wide spread amongst everyone, so it must be your set up.

I use a couple streaming music apps: Sirius XM and DI.fm and they both do not seem to work on this latest ROM.

Make sure you get 0.12.24.1.

I was having issues with Sirius/XM as well. Worked only on WiFi and no 3G, until this morning. It started working and I have no idea why. Can't see that anything was updated overnight. I don't know what the problem was or what fixed it, but it wasn't just this ROM or Droid 1 that had issues with that type of streaming app.

I don't know if it's true or not in this build but I had previously seen a post saying not to restore data if your backup was from a ROM other than MIUI. I know its a pain to lose your angry birds stars, but its the sacrifices we make to be able to do all this awesome stuff with our phones.

Well I use LP with MIUI. I use MIUI for it's featues, not it's launcher. It is nice though. I've had problems deleting apps and a white icon still appearing. I prefer LP anyway though

Hi guys - I just noticed an issue answering calls...If my phone is "asleep" and I get a call, I can answer it (by sliding finger down) with no problem. But, if i'm using the phone, receive a call and answer it (by hitting the "answer" buttton) it automatically puts the call in speaker-phone. I've looked through most of the pages and didn't see anything. I did a full wipe when i installed 0.12.24.0 and I applied the .1 update as well. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for trying, I figured it was probably something on mine since I haven't seen any posts regarding this. I'll try a wipe and reinstall and see what happens.

the stock kernel is plenty fast, but for me personally im using one of my 1100mhz custom kernels with onboot compcache. With a backing swap to my new class 10 sdcard.....zoom zoom!

I also apologize for the double post, but Jamezelle could you link me to your kernel? I've been trying to get compcache working over the past few builds with no success. Any notes on this would also be great :)

BACKUP first, there were 2 people that tried it and it wouldnt boot for them. works fine for me and a few others. It also installs a script that will start compcache on boot. Let me know how it works for you.

to check compcache stats while its booted up, from a terminal emulator do:
Code:
free
will show you how much ram is free, if some shows up for swap then compcache is on(will us sdcard for backing swap IF you have a swap formated 2nd partition, if not compcache will still work but not using sdcard)
do
Code:
rzscontrol /dev/block/ramzswap0 --stats
if not using backingswap
OR
Code:
rzscontrol /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 --stats
if using backingswap to check stats of compcache

To all: I will be putting up a no-wipe .1 update soon that will fix some bugs.

There are a few who say your stock kernel improves 3g performance. Is this kernel the same except for cpu clock and compcache?

Hey can anyone tell me how to fix this problem ive been having with the miui rom. I just flashed this rom and when i go to the messaging app to to send a text I click that plus sign that is supposed to take you to your contacts so you can check who you want to send the message to but when i do that, only like 7 of my contacts show up and I have well over 100 contacts. If i click on the contacts app it shows all my contacts but for some reason the messaging app doesn't want to show all my contacts. What could be the problem?

Try unchecking "Show Mobile Numbers Only." You may have to edit contacts to define mobile number as mobile numbers.

Wow, all of my apps that aren't paid are no longer under my apps. Weird since they've been here this whole time. First time I've had this problem. They were there last night.

Audible notifications still come through after you slide the volume rockers to silent.

Instead of sliding then down manually, use the toolbar in the drop down notifications menu and turn them off by using the "normal" button. If it's lit, your ringtones and notifications will sound. If it's unlit or grayed out then they won't sound (but will still vibrate depending on your settings).
