I have received a swype beta invitation. I cannot install it. Below is the response from the Beta Manager @ swype. Any suggestions?

That said, the MIUI developer changed some things about how the settings interface works that effect Swype. See, Swype can't license itself properly when the application is running, which is why we have you disabled Swype before licensing. But the MIUI ROM automatically enables input methods when they're installed, and won't let you disable them. You can see the problem. We've had some reports that if you uninstall Swype via Applications, then run the installer, go as far as you can through the process, then reboot your device, it'll wind up working, but that's completely unofficial. At this point, we can't support any ROMs that effect the installation process like this. Sorry we can't be more help!

the last post of that link, someone describes how they got it to work. search this thread, theres a few different ways people got it to work.

yeah I got it to work by uninstalling/deleting everything related to swype, reboot, open beta email download installer follow instructions and voila.dancedroid:icon_ banana:dancedroid:icon_ banana:

For me it's in San Antonio. I'm in the Air Force. But my sister who is in the Navy did her basic in Chicago though.

Is anyone else having the problem of trying to scroll up and it keeps taking you to the bottom of the page?

nope, but a few times my [virtual] keyboard went haywire pressing whatever key it wanted without me pressing the screen lol. i locked the phone then unlocked it and it went back to normal. only ever had to reboot for it once, and that was like the first 5 minutes i had this version installed...think its my phone though.[QOUTE]

Yeah, it was cold and snowing like crazy when we went to her graduation. It was weird though, it was snowing but you could go outside without a jacket without freezing. I'm guessing you live there?

Well, I'm on my computer. But speaking of DroidForums and phones, when I quote a thread, I press where I want to start my reply and it scrolls to the top, I do it again and it scrolls to the top yet again but this time it actually starts it where I want. Only when I quote though

Yeah, that always happens when I try to quote only what was directed towards me in a post directed towards many. Comes out looking like that every time haha. Oh, gotcha. Never been to NY

great place unless you plan on; living and paying taxes, buying cigarettes, buying booze, buying gas, buying a car, or purchasing anything else for that matter lol. its a good place to visit, but if you live here, they absolutely rape you with anything that costs money lol. gas prices in my area for Regular Unleaded is $3.20-$3.35 a gallon....welcome to NY lol a pack of smokes in $10 and change

Jeez. Do you have a higher minimum wage? Gas is around 2:79 here and cigarettes are 6 or 7 dollars here

Looks like the Beta Manager at Swype needs to learn the difference between the words affect and effect.

Same way as with any ROM, download Ad Free Android from the Market.
