I love this rom, but I'm a nurse and my phone needs to.. well.. work right. I constantly look up drug info, interactions and cross sensitivities as well to take pics of wounds for reference and later assessment (camera is being a pain). I think I'll just come back when it's out of beta.

kinda know what u mean.... i was out last night and needed then navi.... wouldn't work no matter what i did..... completely frustrating but i'm still sticking with it for the time being

I get random reboots about 2-3 times a day. Very annoying. Normally happens when I go to unlock the screen and it just freezes and then reboots. Not very good for when I need to make a somewhat urgent call regarding something.

I really do love alot of the features with this ROM. But I have about had it with the forced reboots. It happens all the time but really bad when I try to charge the battery or try to sync to my computer. What a pain in the butt.

FC's when you add any type of shortcut..Any fixes yet?

Just wondering if this issued had been addressed or is it something that we will have to wait to be fixed in a later release? Love 12.11 but I need the contact shortcuts.

Finally appreciate all that the devs do with this ROM. I have been using it since the beginning and love it even with the various issues.

Contact shortcuts work on the 0.12.18.0 beta, but there are other issues. Best to wait a day or two till the other issues are addressed.

Disregard my last post. I have since figured out that it was the RAGE theme I was using and LOVED so much. Once I changed themes, no more re-boot problems. Sorry guys.

I had issues with this update. Random reboots (4 times a day?!) and taking out my audio cable sent my music blaring from the phone rather than pausing. However, I love MIUI and had it backed up. So I rolled back to the previous version which has been working great.

I understand custom ROMS take quite a bit of work, so thanks for the hard work you guys are putting in. Looking forward to the next release which hopefully fixes the issues in 0.12.11.

Media Player

Installed 12.11. runsa great with one minor issue. The media Player starts playing random songs while the phone is still in the holster. Any idea what's causing this? Should I rewipe and install again? This wasn't an issue at 12.3

yeah, i agree, it needs to just work, not reboot when you unlock it in the middle of a phone call.
its a slick interface, and pretty well done throughout, just not ready for prime time.

I beg to differ. MIUI is my daily driver and I don't get any random reboots; none. I'm currently running 0.12.3.2 as It's been rock solid stable for me and neither 0.12.11 nor 0.12.18 seem to add anything new and exciting for me, nor do they seem to fix any small bugs like SMS time stamps.

If you're getting random reboots, I recommend you try a clean install again, clean install apps directly from the market and take a real good look at the apps you want to install, try to keep it to the bare essentials first (my gut feeling tells me certain apps a lot of you people use cause more harm than good on this and many other ROMs).

I also recommend getting Startup Manager and disabling every non essential app at startup (startup manager is the only app I've ever found to work 100% as it uses root to disable apps at boot). Apps like foursquare, gowalla, paypal, loopt, qik, documents to go, my verizon and others are really unnecessary at boot time and just unnecessarily tax the system.

If you wish to flash an alternate kernel, make sure to choose an appropriate kernel, keep in mind that no one needs anything over 1Ghz, seriously. 800Mhz - 1Ghz should be optimum and more than enough. Also try different voltages if you encounter any problems.

Glad you brought up kernals actually. I was doing some quadrant benching on my phone tonight and decided to flash in the Slayher 1.275GHz kernal from the list of known working kernals in the OP. This was the only kernal I could find from that last that boot looped my phone. Just wondering if anyone else was having similar issue or if my phone really doesn't like 1.275GHz (it loves 1.25 though).

i wiped, and only use a few apps. apps that i have used on many other roms without any random reboots.

handcent, setcpu, root explorer, rom manager, beautiful widgets and wordwise are pretty much all i use.

i also use the same P3 (http://www.p3designs.info/kernels/LV-250-1000-v32kernel.zip) kernel that i have been running on several other roms. always has been rock solid no matter the rom.

all my apps were cleanly installed from the market, since nothing automatically pulled down. i am an advocate of not using a bunch of non essential stuff.

now, don't get me wrong, i completely appreciate all the time and effort the devs have put into this ground breaking rom. It is truly a thing of beauty.

maybe you should try out the version i am using, and report your results.

Problem First time flashing miui

Hello. Let me start off by saying I like what you have done to this rom. I would really like to get it to work. I keep getting "Sorry! The process android.process. acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I restored all system data and then my apps and rebooted. That is when i get the message.

I don't know if the OP says it but if it does, it says to restore apps only. Not data.
